Friends in All Sizes.....

There's a new challenge today over at Paper Cupcakes and the challenge is to make a valentine's day card for a friend and to use the sentiment (available for free on the Paper Cupcakes site). There's also another freebie for TODAY ONLY, which is the sentiment cupcake, so make sure to hop over there and grab it cos Nina does cupcakes like no other and it's a really versatile image!! Here's my card:

I've used the image 'Friends in All Sizes' which can be found here - I thought it went perfectly with the sentiment and although my card isn't all red or pink and full of hearts, I think it's more appropriate for someone to send to a friend IYKWIM!!??! I remembered this paper was in one of my DCWV stacks and so coloured the image to 'match' and then I used my nesties to cut the image and mat out and also used a Nellie Snellen multi frame die to cut the frame for the sentiment. I left the card all CAS cos I didn't want to cover up too much of the paper (I was so pleased with myself for finding it LOL!)
I'm also going to enter my card into the following challenges:
OK - I think that's about all for now. Don't forget to hop over and grab the freebie and make sure you take part in the challenge this week - it's always good to let our friends know we love them too!! Have a good day and enjoy the coming week! Take care........

Something bright and cheery for you.....

It's time for another Sunday Sketch and Stamp challenge and we had a fabulous sketch from Erin to work with this week. We were also lucky enough to be sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads - I discovered this store a short while ago as they are also sponsoring another DT that I'm on and you really should pay them a visit, Di has some gorgeous images and brings out new - equally fabby - ones all the time!!! Here's my go at Erin's sketch:

I've gone back to some old My Mind's Eye papers which I always fall in love with all over again, whenever I see them (sad I know but in the absence of a man, something's gotta float my boat and I hope you fellow crafters will understand LOL!!) Anyways, I've coloured the image with promarkers and layered up the image and papers with some papermania pink card. The sentiment stamp is from LOTV - I love the way that you can write in the date and year and circle the day of someone's birthday to really personalise it. The crochet flowers and the pom pom trim are both from one of my favourite craft stores, Bunny Zoe's Crafts. Nikki carries some wonderful bits and she's a diamond if you ever want to get hold of anything!! I think that just about covers it.
I'm also going to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sorry my posting has appeared a bit later than it should. I scheduled it to appear and it didn't work - which is v unusual cos I do that all the time and I've never had a problem before. Anyway, when I looked cos I'd done it past midnight, the date had obviously already changed but I'd still made it a day later, so if I hadn't checked it would've gone live tomorrow!! What a dope!
I've got lots of cards to show you - and lots of cards to finish making! With my son not being here, I've been crafting to my heart's content and I've also been watercolouring lots of images with distress inks - something I love doing when I've got the time and I find very relaxing. I'm feeling quite proud of some of them, so look forward to showing you.
Well, I'd better go and get on with finishing off those cards! And I'll be along to visit you all later. Make sure to go and visit the SS&S blog to see the other gorgeous DT cards and I hope you'll join in with the challenge. And lastly, please leave me a comment - I really do appreciate it!! Phew - this has turned out to be a pretty long post LOL.....mwah x

Have a Heart

or in other words, the challenge at Delightful Challenges this week is to include hearts on your project. Here's mine:

I've used the 'Love Birds' image from Digital Delights which I've coloured with promarkers, then I used my cuttlebug and nesties to cut the image and mat out. This is the second card that I've made where I've tried to used up those die cut papers that you get sometimes - they're fab for scrapbooking but not so good for cardmaking - or so I thought, until I decided to cover my card and then cut around the edge, so you get a fancy edged card too!! These papers are Bo Bunny - I've cut the sentiment from one of the papers too. And the hearts have been cut with my Slice.
I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

OK - think that's my lot! Hope you like my card and please take part in the challenge - I'm sure you're all making valentine's day cards at the moment!! I don't think I'll be back any more today, but you never know......and I've not got my son this from tonight til Sunday cos he's off to his nan and grandad's, so I've got plenty of crafting time (and lots of time to play with my new toy - the Slice Elite!!) Hope you're all having good days - remember, it's nearly the weekend!! TTFN..........

Stupid Cupid Stop Picking on me........

Hee, hee - felt like having something different in the title. In fact, I'm going to be more inventive with them in the future! Today there's a new challenge at Southern Girls and this time it's Dry Embossing. Here's my card:

The International sponsor is Digital Delights (who's DT I'm also on) and so I had this gorgeous image from them to work with. I've coloured it with promarkers and used stickles on his wings and 'puffy pen' on the cloud, then I cut the image and mat out with nesties. The top and bottom panels I've embossed in my cuttlebug with the 'divine swirls' embossing folder and I've used Papermania paper in the middle. The border is a Magnolia doohickey die. Ribbon and gems are from my stash. And lastly, the 'love' wording, the swirl and the flowers were all cut with my new Slice Elite (which I'm am LOVIN' by the way!!)
I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
And that's about it for now! Do hop over to Southern Girls and have a look at the other ladie's fabby cards and join in with our challenge - you've got two weeks and there's some great prizes up for grabs! Bye for now - back soon.......

FREE to a good home!!

I've got some 20cm wooden letters in unpainted MDF (18mm thick) spelling the name 'OLLIE' that I'm quite happy to give away to anyone who wants them - I would prefer them to go to someone in the UK (and I'll even pay postage) but if it's someone abroad, I'm sure we can sort something out. I ordered these letters off ebay ages ago and then decorated them for my neighbour's new grandson but the first lot that was sent out got lost by Royal Mail and by the time they turned up, I'd already contacted the seller and they'd already replaced them, so now I'm stuck with them and to be perfectly honest, I'm sick of looking at the box!!! So - if you know anyone called Ollie or Lol or any other anagrams you can get from those letters, let me know!!
Also, I just want to apologise if I've missed out on commenting on anyone's blogs that I usually visit. I think I've mentioned before that I've got dreadful insomnia lately, so sometimes I'm crafting (and blogging!) the night away, but other times, I'm so tired that I'm sitting on the sofa, just about to do something and then the next thing I know, I've nodded off and it's 7 in the morning (like last night!!)
Anyways, my new Slice Elite arrived about half an hour ago, so I'm off to play......YYYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

Come and play Tic Tac Toe with us........

There's a really fun challenge starting today at Paper Cupcakes - Tic Tac Toe!!! Basically, you choose 3 elements in a row from this grid to include on your card, you can use more than 3 but the 3 in a row must be there. For example: stitching, button, some kind of heart or stitching, ribbon, ric-rac - you get the idea!

Here's my card:

I've used some kind of heart - if you look, there are hearts on the DP and I've also drawn little hearts using perfect pearls onto some Craftwork Cards card candy, Bling and Ric Rac. I've used Basic Grey Hopscotch paper on my card with Bazzill Basics blue and brown card. I used my MFT die-namics to cut the borders and the ric rac. I've also added gems from my stash and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.
I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
OK, that's about all for now. I hope you'll take part in the challenge. Have a great week! Bye for now......

Just a quick one.....

Oo-er missus!! Ahem.....just a quick post - I've been out at 'tumble tots' this morning. I've gone the last couple of weeks with my friend because she's got a toddler and a baby who's 4 months, so I've gone along to look after Chloe while she's running round after Joseph. I love it to be honest, I've never known a baby as good as Chloe, she's an absolute joy to look after and I love her to bits, she's just such a happy little soul!! Anyway, I'm gushing!! Who's been watching the craft day on QVC today? I have succumbed to the new Slice Elite - mainly because I was given some money to put towards one for my birthday in December. I've got the original one and I really do love it, the problem is that it doesn't cut through card, so it's not been much good for cutting out mats, etc but they've fixed that problem with the new model and apparently it cuts up to 300gsm. So now I'm selling my old Slice, if you or you know anyone who'd be interested!!??
I've got a card to share with you - it's another one that I've made for 'Just Some Lines':
Dont'cha just love that image?? It's coloured with promarkers and I've used chalk in the background. The papers/chipboard embellies are all Basic Grey Kioshi and I've embossed some Bazzill Basics purple card with my cuttlebug and an embossing folder. I'm entering it into The Sweet Stop sketch #91. And now I'm off to get my DS from school. Til next time......

Let's Celebrate!!!

Today's the day for a new challenge at Delightful Challenges and the theme is 'Let's Celebrate!' Here's my card:

I've used 'Celebration Charlie' and coloured him with promarkers, then I've used a new technique (for me anyway) to cut the image out with my nesties and cuttlebug (see - the balloons are peeking over the top!) I've seen people do this lots of times and I've read how you do it, but for some reason I've never been able to get my head around it! What can I say? I'm a bit thick sometimes!! I won't go into how you do it cos as I said, I know it's nothing new, but if you are interested, let me know and I'll get back to you. The scalloped card blank is from Craftwork Cards, all the papers are from SEI. I've used green Bazzill Basics Bling card and the sentiment is a really old sticker from my stash (see I knew tickets were gonna be the in thing one day - LOL!)
I'm also going to enter my card into the following challenges:
And that's all from me, for now. I'm off to do a mountain of washing up - oh, the fun! Hold me back! Bye for now.....

An Emo Alice Tribute...

Evening peeps. See promised I'd be back! I recently discovered a digital stamp co called 'Just Some Lines' and fell in love with lots of their images. To cut a long story short, I'm doing some work for the artist, Jehanne and this is the first card (of many, I hope!) that I'll be doing for her:

How gorgeous is Alice? I've coloured her with promarkers and managed to punch a PATP mat (Martha Stewart) - I could never get the measurements right until I got my new trimmer (a CARL one, as recommended by Dawn aka Pink Piggy!!). I've used a combination of Bazzill Basics blue card, Cupcakes Cards and Crafts gingham digi paper and spotty card that I bought from C & C. The gingham ribbon's from my stash too. Again, I've gone quite CAS but honestly, I tried adding all sorts of things and it just looked better as it was.
I'm entering it in the following challenges:
Right, that's it from me for today. I've just been making a Galaxy Chocolate cheesecake, so I'm off to eat some of that and watch some TV before I get down to more crafting later. Pure Heaven!!!! Hope you're all having as enjoyable an evening! I hope you'll go and check out Just Some Lines - they're actually sponsoring the 'Sketch and Stash' challenge this week. And let me know what you think of Emo Alice - I love each and every one of your comments, so a big thank you to those of you who take the time to leave them for me. Big hugs......

Scrap Creations DT Card

Good Morning. It's Tuesday and so it's time for a new challenge at Scrap Creations and this week the theme is 'Winter Blast' and we had some fab images from Whimsey to work with and they're also sponsoring the challenge. Here's my card:

I wanted to use this image cos the others were too 'Christmassy' and I must be honest - at the moment, I'm sick to death of making christmas cards!! So - I went with this one and then tied it in to the theme by making up a sentiment: 'Friends keep you warm when its cold outside'. The sentiment is computer generated and it's in a font that I saw over on the new Simply Sassy website and so I went and downloaded it from dafont (it's called 'junko's typewriter' in case you're interested!) The image is coloured with promarkers and all the papers are Basic Grey Max and Whiskers - thought they were appropriate!!
I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:

OK - that's all for now! Back later (promise this time!) Til then....

Paper Cupcakes DT Card

Good Morning!! Sorry I didn't manage to post anything else last night, I got caught up in other things - you know how it is!! Today's the day that Paper Cupcakes is back for the new year, it seems like ages so I'm glad to be back!! This week's challenge is my favourite kind! It's a sketch and we could use any Paper Cupcakes image, so I went with one of my absolute favourites 'For the Love of Lipstick'. Here it is:

I've coloured the image with promarkers (would you believe every lipstick is a different pink - I was shocked how many pinks I actually had - 'specially cos the only one I ever want is one that I haven't got, like a cerise/bright pink. Typical!!) I cut the image out with nesties and my cuttlebug (talking of which, have you seen the new 'bug, I think it looks like a toaster! Good idea to have the fold away handle though. Anyway, I digress (again!)) All the papers are DCWV All About Girls and I've used Bazzill Basics bling cardstock for the mats. Added some ribbon from my stash, a sentiment cut from the same paper stack and a heart die cut, cut with my Nellie Snellen multi frame dies.
I'm also going to enter my card into the following challenges:

That's all for now. I hope you'll take part in our first challenge for 2011. And let me know what you think of my card - I do love to read your comments. TTFN.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp DT Card

Good Morning! Another fortnight has passed (where does the time go!!??) and so today, there's a new sketch provided by the talented Emma, over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Here's my take on it:

I decided to use an image from a stamp co that I haven't used for a while, so I went with this one from The Greeting Farm, which I've coloured with promarkers. The papers are My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy: True Blue and I've used a bit of DCWV brown card. The sentiment is Craftwork Cards. I've gone CAS!!
I'm also going to enter it into the following challenges:

That's all from me this morning, but I should be back later with another card - I've had my usual insomnia and my son's been at his Nan and Grandad's this weekend, so I've been crafting the night away!!
Hope you like my card - let me know what you think, I really do appreciate all of your comments! Bye for now....

Delightful Challenge DT Card - Easel Cards

Morning peeps! The new challenge starting today over at Delightful Challenges is to make 'Easel Cards' and here's mine:

There's also a new release at Digital Delights and so the adorable image that I got to work with is called 'Love you Lara', which I've coloured with my promarkers. My heart easel card is made using some heart shaped cards that I've had in my stash for ages and I've covered them with Bazzill Basics pink card and Cupcake Cards and Crafts paper. I've then layered up various mats made of the same paper/card and cut using my Nellie Snellen multi frame heart shaped dies and cuttlebug. Then I've added some ribbon from my stash and a rub on sentiment from Crate paper and ta-da, there's my card!!!
I'm also going to enter my card in the following challenges:
And that's about it for now. Hop over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of the new release and what the rest of the DT has been making!! And don't forget to take part in the challenge - you don't have to use a Digital Delights image but if you do, you get an extra entry for the prize!! I'd love to hear from you, as always. Have a good day. Back soon......

Scrap Creations DT Card

Good Morning!! It's Tuesday and so it's time for a new challenge over at Scrap Creations!! This week the theme is 'Love is in the Air' and here's my card:

I've used another image from the new release at Some Odd Girls (can ya tell I'm a fan!?), which is coloured with promarkers. The papers are all BoBunny - I covered the base card with red paper, then added the circle which is cut out from another piece of paper. I also cut a strip from some different paper and added a sticker border to it, then finished it off by adding the image with foam pads, a big flower (also BoBunny) and the rub-on definition of SWAK and the little hearts. The glittery brad in the middle of the flower is from Papermania.
I'm also going to enter this card into the following:

That's it for now. Hope you like my card - if you know anyone in need of a valentine, let me know cos I've got no-one to send it to!! LOL! Seriously though, I love it when you leave me a comment and I really do appreciate every single one of my followers and every single comment - thanks!! Bye for now......

A very special post - Help for Katie!!!!

Evening All,
I told you earlier that I would be back tonight with something special and although this might not be what you were expecting, here it is.....
I'm not sure who's heard about this already and I don't know how many of you know or have heard of Katie but on a personal level, as someone who is currently suffering from thyroid cancer, as soon as I heard what was being planned, I wanted to do whatever I could to help - however small. Especially because I know that I'm one of the lucky ones, I can live with my cancer. I also live in the UK where we have an NHS and we don't have to worry about health insurance. I'm sure each and every one of you will have been touched by cancer in some way or another and I hope that you'll want to help too.
A number of artists and companies that know and love Katie (known for her Tuesday Tutorials on the Clear Dollar Stamps Blog) have banded together to help Katie and her family in this season of need. Jak Heath is a crafting friend to Katie and has organised this special digi benefit to help raise money for Katie's Treatment and to give her lovely boys a treat too.
A little about Katie: Katie Emmerson Renz married to Kevin with 3 beautiful boys, the twins Nate & Will, aged 5, and Hunter aged 10, had some news just before Christmas that has rocked their world as they know it. Katie has been diagnosed with stage 4 Stomach Cancer and is currently undergoing her only option which is Chemotherapy.
Katie is a fellow crafter and is loved within the crafting community. You can read Katie's story on her own blog hereLots of dedicated, talented artists have designed for the Help for Katie cause. Here is a scaled down picture of all of the digital designs that you will get for donating £15. And believe me, all of the digi's you'll receive will be worth far more in goods value than your £15 donation (appoximately $23 USD). It's actually unbelievably good value and got to be seen to be believed!! Visit Jak Heath's blog to purchase this set. You will receive all of the following stamps for your donation...
Here's a card that I made with one of the images that has been donated by Wendy of Digital Delights:

Jak Heath will also have some prizes. Every time a donation is made you will be entered into a draw for the prizes if you donate twice you will get 2 chances to win one of the prizes. The draw will be made on 10th February.
Thanks for reading my post and I hope that you'll help Katie and her family. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Good night folks.....

The Stamping Boutique DT Card

Morning peeps!! And how are you all on this fresh new day at the start of a brand new week? Hope you're feeling invigorated after the weekend!! Today, The Stamping Boutique are sponsoring Kaboodle Doodle challenge blog's 'Do It with Digis' challenge. And here's my card, using one of TSB's fabby new images 'Cupcake Bakery', which if you hurry, is still massively reduced in the New Year sale!!

I used a gatefold card blank and coloured the image using promarkers, I also added glossy accents where the windows would be in the shop but I'm not sure you can see that in the photographs. The papers are from Papermania's new 'Little Cake Shoppe' release and I used my Marianne Design die to cut the 'doily' circles, I also added pearl dots using my Viva Decor pearly pen.
Now, I must admit, this image takes some time to colour but, I hope you'll agree it's worth it in the end! I had planned to enter this card into Tuesday Morning Sketches and followed their sketch, but I didn't realise that the challenge closed on a Sunday night, so I missed that one! Anyway, I am entering my card into the following:

Right, that's all from me for now. I'll be back later on this afternoon though with something very special, so please pop back!!! TTFN......

Some Odd Girl Digi Day

Evening All,
Just a quick post to show you the card that I made for yesterday's 'Some Odd Girl' Digi day. The challenge was to make a valentine's/lurve project without pink or red as the main colour. So here's mine:

In case you can't read it, the sentiment reads: Mwah, Mwah, Com'ere and gimme some froggy lovin'!!!! It's computer generated by my own fair hand!! I've coloured the adorable SOG image with promarkers and used Cupcake Cards and Crafts paper (can you tell how much I'm loving this heart paper? If you haven't by now, you will before Valentine's day is out. LOL!), my new Nellie heart shaped die and cuttlebug to cut out the frame using Bazzill Bling green card and I just added some Craftwork cards card candy to the corners.
Hope you likey!! I'm also going to enter it into The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge's challenge #5, which is 'Anything Goes'. That's all for now...hope you'll leave me a comment cos I do like to know I'm not talking to myself!!

Delightful Challenge DT Card - Buttons!

Hi there everyone. Apologies for this post being a bit later than it should've been but I've been having problems with my computer this morning and I've been trying to sort it out.
Today is the first challenge of 2011 over at Delightful Challenges and you have to use 'Buttons' somewhere on your project. Here's my card:
I've used Digital Delights 'Little Dumpling with Bunny Slippers' image which I coloured with promarkers. To get the card shape, I used a t-shirt template from Craftwork cards to draw around on an A5 card, but then I used a nestie to draw around at the bottom to make it into a babygrow. So - what d'you think? There's a fabby prize for the winner of the challenge this week too - $20  voucher from Simon Says Stamp.
I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

OK, that's all for now! Please leave me a comment, I love it when you do!! TTFN.....

Scrap Creations DT Card

Good morning! Last night my complete loss as to what day it is nearly made me miss this challenge!! Luckily I realised just in time and cos I'm a night owl anyway, I crafted into the early hours (nothing new there then!!) This week's challenge over at Scrap Creations is a Sketch challenge, which is a new one over there but my favourite kind!! We also had some images to work with from our sponsor, Stamp Fairy. Here's my card:

I've used a few of the new bits that I bought with my Christmas and birthday money, on this card! I coloured the image with promarkers and cut it out with my nesties and cuttlebug, to make the mat, I also drew round the nestie onto red card and cut it out by hand because the next size up was too big, so doing it this way always gives you another alternative, anyway, I digress! The heart paper is from Cupcake Cards and Crafts, the white card is from Rymans and has been run through the cuttlebug in my swiss dots embossing folder. The sentiment is from Paper Cupcakes, ribbon from stash, the jumbo ric rac has been cut with my new MFT die and the heart from another new Nellie Snellen die, which I've edged with Viva decor glitter pen.
I'm also going to enter my card into the following challenges:

I think that's about it! Hope you'll join in with our first sketch challenge and we're having a DT Call at the moment too, so why not apply?? Bye for now....

The Stamping Boutique DT Cards

Hi there. I'm late tonight - didn't realise the time!! I'll be glad when Sam goes back to school to be honest - just so that I know what day it is!! We thought he had to go back tomorrow and then he got a last minute reprieve when we realised it was an inset day, so he was well chuffed he had an extra day!! So - what have you been doing with your bank holiday? We went down to the cinema to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and it was sold out!! Couldn't believe it, never dreamt it'd be sold out cos it's been out for ages! Ended up taking him to KFC via Starbucks for a coffee for me! then we went home and watched 'Marmaduke' on DVD (which I'd recommend btw, if you've got kids, it quite funny!) I'll book seats online for HP tomorrow!
Today, The Stamping Boutique are sponsoring Cards for Men and Critter Sketch Challenge. Here's a couple of cards I've made following the sketches:
TSB Image coloured with promarkers, Cupcakes Cards and Crafts papers and
Navy Blue Bazzill Basics card run through my cuttlebug in an embossing folder,
computer generated sentiment.
TSB image coloured with promarkers, American Crafts papers and ribbon,
pearls and black card from stash, Craftwork Cards sentiment.
You really should pop over to The Stamping Boutique and have a look at Tracey's images - she's bringing new ones out all the time and I swear they're getting better and better!! Anyhoo, hope you like my cards, do leave me a comment, even if it's just so that I know I'm not talking to myself ;-)) Night, night!
