Thinking of Moo

Happy Friday! And I've got a very happy card to share with you today - something I've made to send to a friend. It's also my turn to post on the Just Some Lines blog today and this is the card I made to share over there too:
Ingredients:
Images - Cow, Cow from Just Some Lines coloured with speccies.
Papers - Cosmo Cricket.
Sentiment stamp - Elzybells.

And that's it, I kept it nice and CAS cos I wanted the cow's face to really stand out - and I raised it up on foam pads too! I hope it brings a smile to my friend's face anyway - and I was lucky enough to find the perfect sentiment in my collection!!

I'm going to enter this card into Paperworks Co. as I followed their super sketch #99. And that's about it from me for today - I've had quite a busy week this week as my son's in his last year of primary school, so we've been visiting some secondary schools with a view to the big transfer - it's quite a nerve wracking decision!! Anyway, TTFN.................................xx

My 1st Christmas card for 2011!!

Well, I thought I'd better make a start LOL! Every year, I say I'm going to start earlier and every year I end up starting them at the same time. I dunno, what am I like?!?
There's a new challenge starting today (which is actually Thursday in NZ where the challenge is based - even though I usually do the post now, and I'm sure you can imagine how confusing that gets for me and my easily-befuddled little brain!!) The theme this fortnight is a nice, easy one: Anything Goes! Here's my card:

Ingredients:
Image - Paper Pretties coloured with Speccies.
Papers, etc - HOTP freebies from a magazine.
Buttons - from stash.

And that's about it! I'm also entering it into the Christmas Card Challenge week #42, cos I followed their sketch (but flopped it on it's side!)
OK - I'm off to craft some more, my mojo has been a bit lacking lately, I must admit but I think I can feel a return what with the arrival of some new Sugar yesterday and how much I'm loving playing with the speccies!! Mwah............xx

My favourite thing!

Morning! Hope you've had a good weekend so far and that you've got a nice relaxing (maybe crafty!) day planned for yourself. My Spectrum Noir pens arrived on Friday, I don't think the postman's ever seen me so excited. I even did a 'happy dance' around the kitchen at 7.30 in the morning LOL! If you'd have told me a few years ago that I'd get this overjoyed about some pens, I would've called you a lunatic. And I'm glad I'm among friends here cos anyone else would think I'd lost it. It's amazing how when you find a colouring medium that suits you, it makes colouring in and shading so much easier - and enjoyable!! Anyway, enough waffling about my new favourite thing (when I wrote the title of the post, I was actually talking about butterflies!!)
Today, there's a new challenge over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and this week, it's a fab sketch by Gry. Here's my go at it:

Ingredients:
Image - Simply Sassy by Sugar Nellie/Funky Kits coloured with Spectrum Noirs.
Papers - Raspberry Road.
Other - Card Candy by Craftwork Cards.

Because there were quite a few 'elements' to the sketch (I must admit, I did have to keep checking which bit went under which bit ha, ha!) and I didn't want to cover up this lush paper, I kept it quite CAS. And I hope you can see my latest attempt at shading with my new (and fabby!) pens (you might have to enlarge the piccy - let me know what you think. At this stage, all advice/criticism gratefully received!) And I can't believe that this is the first time I've used this gorgeous image - 'specially being as butterflies are my most favourite thing!!
I'm also going to enter my card into the following challenges:
OK - and I think that's about it! I'm off to link these up and then Sam wants me to take him to his favourite shop in the world - Smyths (a toy shop surprise, surprise LOL!) TTFN............................xx

Have a Pink and Girlie Birthday!

Evening Campers! Hope you're all well - and I hope you've all taken part in the Southern Girls blog hop and made a card for the challenge. There are some seriously fab prizes on offer!
I've been very busy this past week making cards for commissions, which I'll be sharing with you over the coming days and this is the first one......
Ingredients:
Images - Pollycraft coloured with Spectrum Noirs.
Papers - Imaginisce 'All Kinds of Happy'.
Also used - Nesties and Cuttlebug to die cut image and mat, MS flower punch and ribbon and pearls from stash.
I'm also going to enter it into the following challenges:
Right, I'm off to get crafty! Whilst I do love it when people ask me to make cards for them, it is nice when you can make a card using whatever you want on it, if you know what I mean! Oh, and keep your fingers crossed for me that the postman brings me something in the morning - someone on a facebook group I belong to was selling the 4 24 packs of Spectrum Noir pens that I haven't got and I persuaded my aunt to buy them for me as an early birthday present so I can't wait for them to arrive! I'll be dreaming of pens tonight LOL!! Bye for now my lovelies.....................xxx

Southern Girls - 1 Year Birthday Blog Hop!

Can you believe we are a year old? And what a fantastic year it has been with support from all our wonderful sponsors, and being on the best Design Team anyone could wish for. In celebration of this, we have an amazing blog hop with some of our fantastic regular sponsors giving away fabulous prizes. You should have arrived from Nik, if not, head back to the Southern Girls Challenge Blog where there's a full blog hop list.

I have used an image from Joanna Sheen. Joanna Sheen is giving away a £10 voucher and the new zip and stitch stamps from the Haberdashery collection (which I have used here) to one lucky lady who 1 - comments on my blog and 2 - enters the challenge at Southern Girls.

The Joanna Sheen stamps are the sewing machine and the ruler - but there are plenty more on the sheet! I've also used October Afternoon and Basic Grey papers, a WOC rose, some Websters Pages trim and some buttons from my stash.

So, to recap.... the rules are simple, make sure you make a card and enter on Southern Girls Challenges, also leave me a comment, and on the 20th of September I will draw a random name, that will be a winner of the sponsor that I am showcasing.

Now, you're next stop on the hop is Lou - head on over to say 'hello' and most importantly, have fun......

Sunday 4 September 2011

It's Sunday, which means there's a new sketch challenge over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and this week, it's the turn of our fearless leader, Maggie to put us through our paces! Here's my attempt:

Ingredients:
Image - Pollycraft coloured with spectrum noirs and promarkers.
Papers - My Mind's Eye.
Other - Ribbon, Baker's Twine, Cupcake Punch, Glossy Accents - all from stash.

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
So - what do you think of the rosette and the cupcake button that I made? I was feeling all proud of myself cos I needed an embellie to match and didn't have anything so I thought I'd get out the needle and thread and whip up my own LOL!! Well, I hope you've all had good weekends. I'll be back again soon...............xx

Pink and Green

Pinch, punch, first day of the month!! Can you believe it's the 1st of September? I'm sure with each year that passes, they seem to get quicker (or is that me getting older LOL!) I must make a start on my christmas cards too! I've seen quite a few of you have got a head start already.
Anyhoo, with the first of the month there comes a new challenge over at the Cupcake Craftroom and this time, it's a colour challenge: we want to see your pink and green creations! Here's mine:

Ingredients:
Image - Heather Ellis digi coloured with spectrum noirs and promarkers.
Papers - 'Pretty' paper collection from Cupcake Cards and Crafts.
Card - Papermania.
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards.
Flowers - A lovely present from Edna (Rosietoes) xx
Other - Ribbon from stash and Doohickey border die.

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
The papers that I've used on my card are the prize for the winner of the September challenge at the Cupcake Craftroom. They're all pinks and greens and even have a Christmas element to them and there are solid colours included but the ink was running out in my printer and I couldn't print them off! I hope you'll join in - and I hope you like today's card (I'm still working on that shading!!) See you soon...........xxx
