Time to 'fess up..........

Right, I have to admit that sometimes I can be a bit thick. Not major league stoopid or anything like that, it's just that where I don't work, one day can sometimes seem like the next and time flies by and sometimes things just don't naturally occur to me. Last week, there was a new challenge at Southern Girls and it was my team's turn, to use Brads, Gems or Dewdrops on your project, but being a bit 'doh', I got confused about the time difference (it's based in New Zealand) and hadn't posted my card. I told the team and was waiting to hear whether I should go ahead and post it late or skip it all together but haven't heard anything, so in the end, I've decided to post it cos it's one of the cards that I'm actually quite happy with and I don't want it to go to waste LOL! Well, here it is:

I've watercoloured a LOTV image with distress inks - and added a papermania glittery brad at the end of her 'wand' and stickles on her wings. The papers are all from My Mind's Eye with some Bazzill Basics card for matting. I've also used a Craftwork cards sentiment, Woodware flowers, Papermania brads, a Martha Stewart punched border, some ribbon from my stash and a couple of dew drops.
I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
I really do hope you like my card and please leave me a comment, I love reading them - whenever I log on and see that I've got a new comment, it always makes me happy and I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyone who takes the time to visit me. I'll be back in the morning with a new Scrap Creations project. Night, night........

Spring has sprung - let's have a toast (of tea!)

There's a new challenge at Paper Cupcakes today and it's all about Spring! Pat P wants us to use Spring colours - yellows, greens and blues. Here's my card:
I've used 'Tea for Two' coloured with promarkers (and a bit of stickles and pearly pen!), the papers, ribbon and bow are all Papermania. I've used a polkadoodles sentiment and a hobbycraft flower and that's about it!!
I'm also entering my card into the Paper Cutz Challenge # 80 - Spring and Crafty Sentiments 'Spring' challenge.
I hope you like my card and that the yellow cheers you up a bit on this dreary day (it's certainly dreary in London anyway!!) Have a good week.

A Tilda with a big bow!

Today, Mandy has provided us with a fab new sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. I really enjoyed working with this one - even if I did end up with a completely different card to what I started out with - but that's another story!! Here's my card:

I've used Tilda with a Big Ribbon or Bow - one of the two!?! - I love this Tilda, I think she looks so cute and I love the pose and I think she looks a bit different on this one. I've watercoloured her with distress inks. I've also used gorgeous Prima Madeleine papers and some Bazzill Basics card, then I've added a Craftwork Cards sentiment, some pearls from my stash and I've finally got around to using some of my new Wild Orchid Crafts flowers - here I've used Cherry Blossoms, Asters and Roses with a punched branch.
I'm also going to enter my card into Crazy 4 Challenges who want to see some flowers on our cards. OK - I think that's about it from me. Don't forget to join in over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and I think the DT call is still going on (see the last challenge for details) - we're looking for some more team members as the challenge is doing really well and we've got plans for bigger, brighter things!!
I hope you've got a nice, relaxing Sunday planned for yourselves in preparation for the week ahead. Bye for now, my lovely blog buddies!

And now for something completely different.....

For me, anyway! (My title's from a TV show, can anyone remember which one it was?!?) Right - let's get to it! There's a new challenge today at Delightful Challenges and this week it's 'Use Your Scraps', so that's how I came to do something completely different because I've paper pieced my background and I only used scraps on my card, and here it is:

What do you think? I think it's quite different to what I usually do!?! I've coloured the image with promarkers (using very Magic Roundabout colours LOL!) and then used all my Bazzill Basics card scraps to paper piece the background. I also used my Martha Stewart grass punch and a branch punch to make the flower stems. The flowers - one was a left over from a card last week and the other one is a MS punch, I used my Slice to cut out the clouds then added gems from my stash and a couple of butterflies (another MS punch).
I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
Right, that's it from me for now. Have a great day everyone!! It's nearly the weekend!

Bet'cha didn't expect me back so soon!

When I saw the challenge over at the Some Odd Girl blog a few weeks ago, I had an idea about what I wanted to do straight away but I hadn't got around to it, so when I saw that the challenge ends tonight, I had to pull my finger out - LOL!! The challenge is hearts, hearts, hearts (you had to use at least three hearts on your project). Here's my card:

I coloured both SOG images with promarkers and covered the card with Cupcake Cards and Crafts paper. I used my Slice to cut the heart aperture out, added some gems and some basic grey lettering and there you have it! What do you think?
Well, sorry to post and run but it's getting past my bedtime (ha, ha - not that I have one with this insomnia!!) - the SOG deadline is fast approaching! Night, night x

Three Cheers for a little cutie!

There's a nice, easy challenge for you starting today over at Scrap Creations - we want to see your Birthday cards! Here's mine:
I've needed an excuse to use this super cute digi image from All That Scraps for a while and paired up with the sentiment from Stamping Bella, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. I also always have the colours red and yellow in my head when I think of cheerleaders - it must be from some American TV show that I've seen at some point (anyone got any ideas?!?), so I used some yellow paper from my Cosmo Cricket Delovely pad, paired it with some Papermania ribbon and then added lots of gems using a Bazzill Basics template and ta-da one finished card! (I might've made that sound easy but didn't have any self adhesive red gems, so I was sitting there for ages with my quickie glue pen sticking those red gems down one by one LOL!)
I'm also going to enter my card into the following challenges:
Hope you're all having a good week. I had a fabby day yesterday, catching up with all my friends and their new babies and seeing my friend who's just about to have a baby. I was one of the first ones out of all my friends to have children, I didn't exactly plan to have my son when I did but it happened and I looked at my life and I felt I'd done plenty of living and I had a good job that I'd been doing for 6 years and I was 24, unfortunately things didn't work out with his dad but that's the way it is. Obviously I'm so glad it did and I wouldn't change anything for the world because he's the best thing in my life, but for quite some time, I felt like the odd one out because I don't think people understand what it's like to have children and to try and juggle life around that, when they don't have any themselves. So, now all my friends are having children they're catching up to me now - although my son's 10 and is getting more independent and they're just getting started LOL!! Anyways, enjoy the rest of your day, don't forget to join in with our challenge (and leave me a comment of course!!??) Bye for now.....

A Bold and Bright Birthday!!

Today it was my turn to set the challenge over at Paper Cupcakes and in the spirit of keeping the cold wintery blues away I thought I'd set the theme of a Children's Birthday card. You can translate that any way you want but for me, it's all about making something bold and bright that appeals to a child and using a cute, fun image, so here's mine:

The image is from Paper Cupcakes and is coloured with promarkers. All the papers are from WRMK Nonsense (which have been at the bottom of a pile for ages!!) Also, on this card I used my Slice quite a lot - to cut out the frame around the image, the 'birthday' wording, the circle and the balloons - yep, I'm still lovin' it!!! Lastly, I used a MFT die to cut out the scalloped border.
I'm also entering my card into the following challenges: One Stop Craft Challenge - #119 Birthday Cards, Card Makin Mamas - #15 Happy Birthday!, Simply Create - #37 It's Bright in here and For Fun Challenges - Happy Birthday.
Also, I wanted to say a big welcome to my new followers and thanks for joining me!! And, I'm sorry to anyone that I usually visit if I haven't made it round to you this weekend, it seemed to fly by and every time I logged on to do some commenting there seemed to be so much to look at, so I visited as many as I could but I'm sure that there were a few I'd missed out - please forgive me!!!
I hope you'll join in with the challenge this week, there's a free image on the site that you can use if you do decide to join in but you don't have to use a Paper Cupcakes image and everyone always needs cards for the kids!!!
Well, I'd better be off, I'm going round to see lots of my friend's today as they're all off on half term (nearly all my friends are teachers!!) and there are a few new babies too, so I'll make sure to get some cuddles in!! Hopefully, I'll be round to visit you later. Bye for now..........x

The Stamping Boutique 'Spring Fever' Blog Hop

Hey everyone. We are hosting a "Spring Fever" blog hop this month! We're all sick of the snow and the cold weather and would love a little sunshine and flowers to pop in so we decided to bring them on ourselves! And bring it we did!

You'll have to make sure you hop to every design team blog. Make sure you post on EACH blog post for TSB to be eligible for the prize, which is 4 new spring images.

You should've arrived here from Louise's blog (http://punknscrap.blogspot.com). If not, you need to start at the beginning here and work your way through the group! At the last stop, The Stamping Boutique Challenge blog, there will be an Inlinkz where you can post your comment after you have completed hop! From this list, the winner will be chosen randomly!

The hop will run from February 19th 12AM EST and you will have until February 20th 6PM EST. After that time, the comments will be tallied and the winner will be randomly picked.

The Design Team used a sketch this month for our creations. And here is my take on the sketch!

I really hope you liked my card and that you've enjoyed the hop so far, your next stop is Melissa here. Carry on hopping and have fun!!! TTFN!

Woof, Woof!!

Hey there, everyone. There's a new challenge at Delightful Challenges and this week, the theme is 'Animals'. Being as I love, love, love Chihuahuas and I decided to 'think outside the box' a little and I came up with this:

The Chihuahua digi image is an 'accessory' from the Mexico Carmen set from Digital Delights and I've coloured him with promarkers. I've used a Papermania card blank which I've covered in a freebie paper that I got from Bearly Mine. All of the other papers, rub ons and embellies are from Papermania.
So - what do you think? I really wanted to do something a bit different and I'd love to know what you think of it!! I hope you'll leave me a comment and let me know - and don't forget to hop over and join in with the challenge. Bye for now - have a good day....

Spring Fever!!!

Yep, before Spring was on it's way, now it's here!! LOL! I only wish that were the case in real life and it wasn't all dreary and raining outside!! The new challenge over at Scrap Creations, starting today is 'Spring Fever' and we've been sponsored by Bugaboo. So - as well as having some fab images to work with, there's also a great prize to be won of 7 digi's of the winner's choice!!!! Here's my card:

OK - so, the image is (of course) from Bugaboo and is coloured with promarkers and die cut with my nesties and cuttlebug. I just had to use this My Mind's Eye paper cos I thought it went perfectly!! The plain card is Papermania. I've put some Craftwork Cards card candy in the corners, a Martha Stewart punched border, as well as my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and I've decorated the butterflies with a viva decor glitter pen. Lastly, I've added flowers cut with new Magnolia doohickeys die and put pearls from my stash in the middle. And I think that's about it.
I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
  • Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog - Sketch (I've followed the sketch but not used the colours, I hope it still meets the challenge criteria).
  • Paper Sundaes - Challenge #56 Pick Your Toppings (I've used Pink and Flowers).
  • Catered Crop - Pick from Recipe (I've used Pink Cardstock, Patterned Paper, Scallops and Punches).
Have a great day everyone - and enjoy the rest of the week. I'll be back tomorrow - til then.....take care x

Spring is on the way!!!!

Today over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp we've got something really exciting for you!!! Not only is there a new challenge, we're also having a Design Team call!!! Hop over and have a look at the details and I'd really encourage you to apply - it's one of the first design teams that I started working on. It's a great team to work with and we have some fab sketches, we also have some wonderful sponsors and the site is going from strength to strength!! The challenge this week, set by Lisa, is to either use the sketch provided or to create a card with no corners (i.e. a circle, heart, etc.) and we've got a fantastic sponsor - The Stamping Boutique. Here's my card:

The image is one of the new ones called 'Picket Fence' (by The Stamping Boutique), and I've coloured it with promarkers and I've die cut the image and the scalloped circle using my nesties and cuttlebug. All the papers are Imaginisce 'Lucy Bird', which are so bright, fun and summery - I've also cut a sentiment from one of the papers. The cardstock is from Papermania. The border at the middle is a die from MFT (I'm loving these dies!!) And then I've gone all round the circle with some teeny, tiny flowers that I got in a cute little pot from Crafts U Love. And lastly, I've dotted the flowers in the middle with my viva decor pearly pen. I went a bit kerazy with these flowers as it goes - at first, I was going to put some in the corners and then ended up putting them everywhere!! I quite like the effect though and I think it looks quite summery/springy (I thought it was a bit early to have 'summer is on the way' in the title though LOL!)
I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
  • Digi Doodle Shop's Best - Challenge #46 Nature.
  • Simply Create - #37 It's Bright in Here.
  • Phindy's Place Challenge Blog - #42 Spring is on it's way.
  • Paper Cutz Challenge - #78 Ladybugs, birds or bees (I hope you can see there's a ladybug and butterfly in my card, so I hope it counts).
  • Digi's with Attitude - Challenge #17 It's a Puffy (Poofy) Challenge - now poofy in the UK means something quite different all together but as it's not a UK site, I'm assuming they don't mean any offence by it!!! From what I understand, it means going over the top with embellies or whatever and as I went a bit kerazy with the flowers, I thought it might fit!!
OK - I think that's all from me. Please let me know what you think of my card!! And don't forget to check out the DT call and join in with the challenge. Enjoy the rest of your day - hope it's nice and relaxing before the new week starts tomorrow. TTFN......x

Trouble!!

I was so pleased with myself when I finished this card on Friday cos I was so chuffed with how it turned out and it was made for the Totally Gorjuss sketch, which I knew would be perfect for one of these quote stamps as soon as I saw it. Anyway, I went out last night and when I got back, I sat down to watch a bit of telly and have a cuppa before I hit the computer, next thing I knew, it was 6 o'clock this morning!!! So, needless to say, I missed the Totally Gorjuss deadline!! Oh well, I've found some other challenges that it'll fit into. Here's the card I want to share with you:

The image is from The Greeting Farm and is coloured with promarkers and the quote stamp is by Inkadinkado and I got it in the Hobbycraft sale for £2! The papers are from October Afternoon and I've cut the word out of black card (from stash) using my slice. I added a couple of staples and that's about it!
I'm going to enter it into the following challenges:
As always, I'd really love to hear what you think of this card - even more so cos this is one that I feel quite pleased with and I'd like to know whether I'm right to feel that way!! Hope you're all having fab weekends and getting some crafting in!! Back tomorrow with a new challenge from Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Til then...

For the Bride and Groom....

Hi there. Please think of me as you're reading this cos I'm off to the hospital today to be sedated to have the feeding tube in my stomach changed. It's not really a big deal but sometimes I get a bit fed up of being prodded and poked, if you know what  I mean!?!
Anyways!! There's a new challenge today at Delightful Challenges and for this one, you're to use your punches and die cuts. Here's my card:
I've used the gorgeous Bride and Groom digital image from Digital Delights and coloured it with promarkers. The papers are all from the Papermania Confetti range with Bazzill Basics grey cardstock. And I've used a Craftwork Cards die cut sentiment, flowers from WOC and Hobbycraft, pearls from my stash and the heart that you can see poking out was die cut using a Nellie Snellen multi frame die with my cuttlebug. I hope you like it. You're probably going to be seeing a few more flowers on my cards cos I went a bit kerazy at Wild Orchid Crafts the other day and my big box of drool-worthy flowers arrived this morning!!
Also - must tell you about my bargain! I bought a set of 12 promarkers from Craft Superstore, which was quite a coo anyway cos I didn't think I'd be able to get any more promarkers without buying singles cos whenever I look lately I've got most of the colours that are in the sets but I haven't seen this one before (it's just called 'Set 2'). They were £16.99. Well, when they arrived, included in the price was a Hero Arts stamp set (the ones that retail for about a tenner!) Hop over to Craft Superstore and have a look, I was well impressed!
Enough rambling! I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:

Don't forget to join in with us at Delightful Challenges. I hope to see you there! Bye for now.......

Life's Tweet

The challenge starting today at Scrap Creations is 'Animal Antics' and it's being sponsored by Robyn's Fetish so we had some fab images to work with. Here's my card:

I've coloured the image with promarkers and mounted it onto a Nellie Snellen rectangular multi frame, which I'd die cut with my cuttlebug. The papers are all My Mind's Eye (which I've finally got around to using!), with Bazzill Basics card and the sentiment (which I thought was rather appropriate!) is from a Hunkydory kit. Lastly, the flowers I made using a MFT die - I'm not sure whether they look right there or whether they look like I've just plonked them there IYKWIM, but too late now, eh!?!
I'm also entering my card into 'Truly Scrumptious', as I followed challenge 50 which is a sketch, 'Quirky Crafts' challenge #2, which is 'In the Spring Garden' and lastly, 'Critter Sketch Challenge' #50 and they want to see a 'critter' - I take it a birdie counts?!? OK - that's all from me for now! I must take my little Tippy out, he's got all four paws crossed at the moment LOL! TTFN.

Milk and Sugar with your Tea?

There's a new challenge at Paper Cupcakes today and this week, Carol has given us a 'Recipe' to work with! You must use: 3 Flowers (min.), Lace or Ribbon, Pearls or Gems and 1 Die Cut. Here's my card:

I used the freebie Pink Petticoat papers for my card, coloured the image with promarkers and die cut it with nesties and my cuttlebug. The pink card is Bazzill Basics and those edges are die cut with a MFT die (hope I was allowed more than one die cut!) The ribbon is from my stash, sentiment from Craftwork Cards and the flowers were from hobbycraft. And that's about it!!
I'm also entering my card into The Sweet Stop's sketch #94, Papertake Weekly's 'Anything Goes + flowers', Top Tip Tuesday's 'Anything Girlie' and Digi's with Attitude's colour challenge,  'Pink and White'.
I hope you'll join in with the challenge over at Paper Cupcakes, there's a freebie over there to use if you want to take part and I'd love to see what you come up with with the recipe! Have a good week everyone!

J'adore L'Amore!!!!!

There's a new release over at Cupcake Cards and Crafts - the collection is called L'Amour and it's all different shades of pinks and reds. It is perfect for valentine's day but it could also be used all year round and if you ask me, it's absolutely gorgeous!!! You can also win the collection by taking part in the February challenge at the Cupcake Craftroom, where the theme is 'Love and Romance'. The card I posted earlier was made using these papers and here's another couple of cards I've made using them:

The first card was really easy to make but I really like it cos that paper is so striking. All I did was cover the bottom half of a square card blank with some pale pink Papermania card, I then covered the top half of the card with the Cupcake's paper - cutting the bottom of this piece at an angle then I covered the join with lots of different coloured pink hearts that had been cut with my Slice. The sentiment is also from the paper collection.
The second card features Magnolia's Edwin watercoloured with distress inks (another one from the new collection) - this really is my favourite medium for rubber stamping, I just love the effect. As well as the papers from the L'Amour collection, I've also used some grey Papermania card, which I used my Slice to cut a scalloped heart outline for Edwin to stand upon, Gems from my stash, the ribbon is from Papermania too and lastly, a couple of flowers from Hobbycraft.
I'm also entering my card/s into the following challenges:
OK - I think that's about it!! There are sooooo many valentine's type challenge's going on at the moment! By the time it comes around I'm gonna be as fed up of making cards with hearts on as I was with Christmas cards!! Have a good day, everyone. I hope you'll leave me a comment. TTFN!

Lots of Hearts!!!

The theme for the new challenge starting today at Scrap Creations is 'Love or Friendship' and here's my card:

The challenge at Scrap Creations today is actually being sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads (who's image I used on my SS&S card on Sunday), but unfortunately I'm waiting on printer ink so I've used 'Tilda with lots of hearts' from the new Magnolia 'So Special' collection. It's one of the images that I watercoloured with distress inks over my crafty weekend! The paper and sentiment are from the new Cupcakes Cards and Crafts L'Amour collection and I've used some pink Papermania card. The image has been die cut with a nestie, the border is a Magnolia Doohickey die and all the hearts are cut with my Slice (still lovin' it - are ya bored of hearing that yet? lol!!) This is one of those cards that I feel quite pleased with - I like the reflection of the hearts down the side from those in the image. What do you think of it? Did it need less/more? Let me know!
I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
Don't forget to leave me some love and join in with the challenge for a chance to win some wonderful Di's Digital images!! I'll be back in just a bit.....I've been a busy bunny!
