Scrap Creations DT Card

Good Morning, good morning!! I woke this morning to find Blackheath and most of London, I should think, covered in a blanket of snow!! It was snowing last night when I took the dog out for his last walk but it didn't look as though it was going to settle, so it was a surprise to see it so thick this morning. I'll take some photos of the heath later from my window and show you how pretty it looks (yeah, looks pretty but makes it hard work to do anything or go anywhere!! But for the moment I'm enjoying the scenery!)
Today there's a new challenge over at Scrap Creations and it's an easy one for you all - Anything Goes! We had some gorgeous images to work with from our sponsor, Digis with Attitude - who are offering a prize, so it's worth joining in!! Here's my card:

I actually tried to run some coredinations black magic card through my cuttlebug with a tiger stripe embossing folder, but as I was sanding it down to reveal the orange core, it kept tearing so I had to throw it away. Instead, to make this background, I cut a piece of orange Bazzill Basics card and a piece of black card to the size of the base card and then cut tiger stripes out of the black card at random - I really hope it doesn't look too 'Blue Peter' though!! I coloured up the image with promarkers (and used a tutorial from Craft Stamper magazine to 'ground' the image!), cut it out with my nesties and then added a big black bow (with Pebble Inc. ribbon), a Paper Cupcakes sentiment ticket and a zig zag border using my Bazzill Basics jewel template and a black pearl viva decor pen. How d'you think it turned out?
I did follow the Sketch Saturday week #131 sketch - but I'm not sure it'll count cos I've not put all my embellishments in the right place, I'll give it a go though!! I'm also going to enter the Anything Goes Challenge Blog - Week 26 Animals, For Fun Challenges - Anything Goes, Fab 'n' Funky Challenges - Week 50 Go with the flow (anything goes) - All for the second time, cos I can't see anything on there to say you can't enter more than once. And lastly, Creative Cowgirls Challenge #1 - Anything Goes, which says that you can enter two cards, so this'll be my second one!
Have good day, everyone! Stay warm to those of you who have got the cold weather like me! And don't forget to hop over and join in with the challenge! TTFN.....

Paper Cupcakes DT Card

Hi there everyone, it's Monday so let's welcome in a new week with a new challenge over at Paper Cupcakes - and this week Patti P wants everyone to show off their creativity with an 'Anything Goes' challenge using any image. Here's my attempt:

I absolutely adore this cute image - I think Shelley is one of my favourite Paper Cupcakes characters!! I coloured the image with promarkers, viva pearl pen on his hat and stickles for the snow, then I used my cuttlebug and a Nellie Snellen multi frame then layered it all up using Imaginisce Cottage Christmas papers.
I'm also going to enter it into the following challenges:

Hope you like my card and I hope you'll join in with the challenge, you don't have to use a PC image, although we love it when you do - and Nina's very generous with her freebies. I'll hopefully be back with another card later.....til then........x

Sunday Sketch & Stamp DT Card

Morning All! I can't believe that another fortnight has passed and it's time again for a new challenge over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp. This time around, Mira has come up with a really fab sketch for us all to work with - here's my card:

I covered my card blank with purple Bazzill Basics card and then used Cosmo Cricket 'Pixielicious' papers - one of the circles, I used my cuttlebug and a marianne designs doily die. The stamp is Magnolia Tilda and I'm pretty sure it's called 'Happy Tilda' and is from one of the most recent releases - I like this one because it's one of the only ones I've seen with a different 'face'. I've watercoloured it with Tim Holtz distress inks. The velvet ribbon is Papermania boutique, I've used a Craftwork Cards sentiment, gems from my stash and the flowers are mainly from Wild Orchid Crafts, with a couple of Hobbycraft ones thrown in!
I actually used Dawny P's (aka Pink Piggy!) blog for inspiration on the flower placement - I don't know why but I always have trouble with this type of flower. I don't have any problem with punched or die cut flowers but these ones, well, they just befuddle me (think I made that word up but I like it!) If you've never visited Dawn's blog, it's definitely worth a trip cos she makes some gorge cards and is v talented - you can find it here.
I hope you'll hop over and have a look at the other DT cards and if you've got any spare time at this time of year, take part in the challenge.
I'm planning some 'Birthday Blog Candy' in the next couple of weeks (it's my birthday on 11th December), so spread the word as it'll be open to followers only. I've never had candy on my blog before so if any of you 'old hands' want to give me any words of wisdom on the best way to work it, I'd be very grateful! I'll be back later with some more cards I've been working on. TTFN - have a happy Sunday!

Delightful Challenge DT Card - 'Flower Power'

Morning peeps. It's Thursday, so it's time for a new challenge at Delightful Challenges and this week the theme is 'Flower Power'. Now, it would've been so easy not to have done a Christmas card but I'd chosen to work with the 'fairy' image and I really wanted her to be a Christmas Fairy - I hope I've succeeded, you'll have to tell me what you think.......here's my card:

I've shown you all three pics in the hope that you can see what I've done with the card - I die cut an aperture in my card base and then suspended a frame (cut with a nellie snellen multi frame die and my cuttlebug), with the image 'sitting' on it, inside the aperture. I then added die cut flowers (marianne designs die and cuttlebug), layered up with a punched snowflake and dotted with white sakura gel pen (I wanted them to look a bit like the flowers on the backing papers!?!?) All papers are Basic Grey Jovial btw!
I'm also going to enter this card into the following challenges:
I hope to see your creation if you decide to join in with the challenge. Back soon............x

Scrap Creations DT Card

Morning folks! It's time for a new challenge at Scrap Creations and this week it's a colour challenge - you have to use the colours Blue, Silver and White on your cards. Here's mine:

I've used one of my new Magnolia stamps and watercoloured it with distress inks - and a touch of mica on the wings then I've layered it up with some Bazzill Basics card and Magnolia paper. The gems and ribbon are from my stash. I must admit, I did intend to emboss the blue card but only remembered after I'd stuck it down and I've just noticed as I uploaded the photo that I've not put any sentiment - but I don't think it's turned out too bad in all it's simplicity!!
I've followed the sketch at Mojo Monday - week #166, so I'll be entering it over there. Have a good day everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the USA! I hope you'll join us with our challenge! Back tomorrow with a Delightful Challenge DT Card. Til then...........x

Paper Cupcakes DT Card

Good Morning! And it's the start of another week.....it really is marching on now towards Christmas (and not forgetting my birthday ;-)) I'm so behind, I've done hardly any chrimbo shopping so I'll have to get a wriggle on in the next couple of weeks. Today's the day for a new challenge at Paper Cupcakes and this week, the lovely Nilla has set a colour challenge - she wants us to use any Paper Cupcakes image with only the colours Red and Cream. Here's my card:

I've coloured my Paper Cupcakes image with promarkers (and a bit of stickles!) and then layered it all up with Papermania paper and Bazzill Basics card. I've used ribbon and gems from my stash and I've finally got the chance to use my new Magnolia Doohickey's lace die - am lovin' it, will def be buying more of these dies!! (Although alot of styles are out of stock just about everywhere - unless anyone can tell me where I can get the tag and the flower dies?!?) You would've laughed if you'd seen me making this card - I didn't have any red and cream DPs, only red and white so there was me, colouring in all the dots with my vanilla promarker pen!!! LOL! That's dedication for ya!
I used the sketch for week #130 at Sketch Saturday for my card, so I'll be entering it over there. That's all for now, have a good day!

The Stamping Boutique DT Card

Hi All. Hope you're having a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon. We're off to dinner in a bit for Mum's birthday last week - we couldn't go then cos my Dad was working so thought we'd go today instead. But, before I go, I thought I'd share with you a card I've made using The Stamping Boutique's Kendra - I absolutely adore this image, so perfect for girlie cards and I do love the way Tracey's drawn a frame around the main image, I think it really sets it off. Here's my card:

I coloured the image with promarkers and added chalk to the background (which is something that I often forget I've got - and it's works well, especially when you want to add a bit of subtle colour into the background which I sometimes feel looks too 'white' IYKWIM!), I cut the image and the scalloped frame out using my nesties and cuttlebug, then I put the card together with my Echo Park papers and added a Craftwork Cards sentiment, candy and some layered up punched snowflakes - and that was about it!!
I actually followed the sketch at Allsorts, but missed the deadline for the challenge, but I'm going to enter my card at Totally Papercrafts challenge #43 - Snow and Snowflakes and Beary Scraps Beary Sweet challenge #14 - Anything Goes!
OK - well I'd better go and get ready (I'm always getting in trouble for being late! Last time I got in the car, my dad - the joker! - had the song 'so tired, tired of waiting, tired of waiting for you-oo-oo' playing - d'you know the one I mean!?!?) ha, ha! Have a good day, lovelies!

Mum's Birthday Cards

Evening All. Now I know it's was my mum's birthday last week - and so do you cos I told you! But, I hadn't shared the cards that I'd made for her yet and also, I've not blogged for a few days and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms LOL! So - here they are:

I used papers from the SWALK CD on both cards and a SWALK image on the one from me - I really do love these little characters, so adorable! The one for Nanny, that I made from Sam, has got an Elzybell's image on it and says 'Group Hug, Anyone?' I used this image because when my aunt, Betty (my mum's sister, who recently passed away) was last here and staying at my mum's, whenever Sam was there too, he would always go into the kitchen to the pair of them and say 'Group Hug' and they'd all have to have a cuddle. I thought it would be quite a nice touch to make a reference to Bet as it's the first birthday that mum's had that she wouldn't have a card from her and luckily, mum knew exactly why I'd use the image and what I was referring to, so it wasn't lost on her!! Well, that's all folks - I'm off to craft some more! Bye for now.......x

Delightful Challenge DT Card

Hi there everyone! It's Thursday, so there's a new challenge over at Delightful Challenges. This week, the theme is 'Baby it's cold outside (winter theme)' and here's my card:
I used Christmas Pippin and coloured him with Marvy LePlume pens for a change! The papers are from Papermania Honey and Hugs, the embossed card is DCWV that I ran through my cuttlebug with a snowflake embossing folder and I used a Craftwork Cards sentiment and gems and ribbon from my stash.
Hope you like it and I hope you'll join in! It's quite a generic theme and I'm sure we're all making chrimbo cards at the moment!! TTFN.....

Southern Girls DT Card

Good Evening to those of you in the UK - and Good Morning to those of you in New Zealand which is where this challenge originates! Over at Southern Girls, the time has come around to my team again, and this fortnight's challenge is to make a card using your 'Favourite Colour', we also had some images to work with from our sponsor, 'Make it Crafty' - I hadn't heard of them before but they've got some fab images, including some great backgrounds that work together with other images (and the prices are v. reasonable!!) Definitely worth a look anyway. Here's my card:

I coloured the image with my prismacolour pencils and blended with sansodor and then I put the card together using papers, ribbon and chipboard shapes from DCWV Rock Star collection, the glitter flourishes, I got from QVC a while ago. It's quite hard for me to pick a favourite colour because I wouldn't say that I have any one favourite - with me, it depends on the mood I'm in - do you know what I mean? Anyway, yesterday I was in a pink and black mood!!
I followed the sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches #91, so I'll be entering my card over there and the November Digi day challenge is still running over at Stamp Something, so I'll join in with that one too!
I hope you like it! Please do pop over and have a look at the other cards/layouts that my fellow Southern Girls DT members have produced, they're really outdone themselves this time!! And most importantly, join in!! Right, that's all folks! Til next time.........x

First time playing in The Sugar Bowl

Morning! Here's another one of the cards that I've been waiting to show you. Not only is it the first time that I'll be entering into The Sugar Bowl challenge (#47 - Maria Therese's sketch), it's also the first card that I've made using my new 'Simply Sassy' stamps but it most certainly won't be the last because I am absolutely in love with this range of stamps. I bought the first set as soon as they came out and I've now bought the second set, which arrived this morning - so I've got lots to play with and keep me busy. Only trouble is, I should be making Christmas cards!! OK - here it is then:

Isn't she just adorable? I stamped her and then watercoloured her using distress inks. All the papers, etc are October Afternoon.
These past couple of days, I've been out on school trips with my son and his class but I'll be coming straight home today and getting on with lots of luverly crafting!! Back soon!

Scrap Creations DT Card

Morning All. It's Tuesday and there's a new challenge over at Scrap Creations. This week, we had some gorgeous images from our sponsor, Prairie Fairy, to work with and the theme was 'song inspired'. The song I chose is 'Kiss by Prince', you know the one, it goes: 'You don't have to be rich to be my girl, you don't have to be cool to rule my world, Ain't no particular sign I'm more compatible with, I just want your extra time and your........Kiss'. Now I bet you'll have it in your head all day (mwah, ha, ha....) And here's my card so you'll see where the song idea came from:
I do love this little girl character, I've made a card with her before and she's still just as adorable!! As I said, the image is from Prairie Fairy, coloured with promarkers and then I used some freebie Nitwits papers that I got from a magazine, and a couple of gems from my stash and that's it!! Oh, and I did put a bit of glossy accents on her glasses! I used the sketch from Fussy and Fancy Friday week #23, so I'll enter it in over there and also into Dutch Dare's challenge #90, which is 'clean and simple' - there's not many embellies here today! Right, that's it from me. I hope you'll join in with our challenge. TTFN.

ICSketches #90

Hi there. Just a quick post because some of the deadlines for the cards that I'd made but hadn't shown you yet are coming up and this is one of them. Here's a card I made following Inspirational Card Sketch #90:
I've used the fantastic 'Stocking Miles' stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie, which is great for Christmas cos it's soooooo easy to colour and he's super cute! It's coloured with promarkers and I've used my Basic Grey Jovial papers on an Anita's round card blank. Oh, and I also used my marianne design doily die. Simples! OK - told ya it was gonna be quick. Back in the am.

Paper Cupcakes DT Card

It's Monday, so that can only mean one thing (for me and the other Paper Cupcakes gals, anyway!) This week's challenge has been set by Pat P and she wanted us to make a Christmas card and use glitter and ribbon. Now these challenges are coming in very handy for me in building up my Christmas card stash! We also had the image: 'Who's Candy' to use (and if you like it, it'll be available free on the Paper Cupcakes challenge site). Here's my card:
I coloured the image with a mix of promarkers and glitter and then die cut it with my nesties and cuttlebug. Then I used Papermania papers on the card, wrapped Pebbles inc ribbon around the corners and topped it off with punched snowflakes, papermania stars, a Paper Cupcakes sentiment ticket (coming soon to the store - these are FABULOUS!!!) and a papermania gem snowman. I followed the sketch (week #129) over at Sketch Saturday and I'm also going to enter it into the Christmas challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges. OK - that's it from me for now. Don't forget to hop over and join in with the challenge - don't forget, you don't have to use a Paper Cupcakes image to enter - although we love it when you do and being as there's a freebie going begging, it'd be rude not to! Back soon..........x

Sunday Sketch & Stamp DT Card

I've decided to start putting titles on my posts - might make them easier for me to find sometimes! Today over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp, it's my turn to design the sketch - very exciting for me! Here's my take on it:

I've used a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp - Willard (who I think is fantastic btw!!) and I coloured him with promarkers and paper pieced his jumper and I used my Basic Grey Jovial papers. I cut out the doily shape and lots of flowers using marianne design dies and then layered them all up with some punched snowflakes, then I added a Craft Creations glittery reindeer and went a bit kerazy with the viva decor pearly pen. And that was it, simples. Is it OK to say that I really like this card - mainly cos of Willard though, I must admit!!
I'm also going to enter it into the Totally Gorjuss challenge #56 (Traditional Christmas Colours) and Sweet Stampin's 'All about Snowflakes' challenge.
Pop over and have a look what the rest of the DT have done with my sketch. And I'd be so honoured if you'd join in with us this week - it really is great, seeing what everyone does with a sketch that you've come up with and seeing all the different takes on the same sketch. Bye for now.......x

Saturday, 13 November 2010

Hey there! I've been busy making lots of cards over the past couple of days but haven't been able to take any pics of them because the light in my kitchen (where I normally take the pics) isn't working right now and with the weather being so awful, natural light is not happening! But - I couldn't wait any longer, so I've taken some pics elsewhere and I think they've turned out better than the old ones, so I might have a new 'picture taking location'!!
The first card I'm going to share with you is one that I've made for the Some Odd Girl early bird challenge for the digi day that they're having today on PCP and SNR. For this challenge, you had to use dimension, with at least 2 things lifted up or standing tall. Here it is:

The third pic, I included so that you can see the different layers. For my card, I used Dovecraft Christmas Fancy papers and layered them up using different 'heights' of foam pads, them I coloured my SOG image with promarkers and cut it out and layered it up with foam pads, as well as a ticket sentiment (coming soon to Paper Cupcakes!!) then topped it all off with a huge tulle bow held in place with a Christmas Fancy brad. Hope you like it!
It's my mum's birthday today - Happy Birthday Mum!! So - I'm off to start getting ready now as we're going round to give her her present and then we're off to a party where she used to work. I'll probably be back later with another of my backlog of cards! Til then......

Thursday, 11 November 2010

Morning everyone,
Before I go on with my post, don't forgot to pop over to the Digital Delights group on SNR and join in with our digi day - hope to see you there (I'll be popping in and out all day). There's a fab freebie and another gorgeous one that you could get if you take part in the challenge!
Back to the usual! As it's Thursday, it's time for a new challenge at Delightful Challenges and this week it's 'Glitter it up' and I used the seriously cute 'Tango the Skating Bird' who is one of the November release images. Here's my card:
Now, you're gonna have to trust me when I tell you that I have actually added quite a lot of glitter highlights to my card but whether it's the photo or whether it's cos I didn't use my usual stickles, I used a different glitter glue - it ain't showin' up too well!! Sorry 'bout that!
I'm entering this into Sketch and Stash Challenge #48 cos I dug out last year's MME Colourful Christmas papers that had been gathering dust and The Stamp Man's Christmas Anything Goes challenge.
Don't forget to join in! I'll hopefully be back tomorrow with another card. Til then......

Wednesday, 10 November 2010

Sorry I'm so late in posting tonight - I took Sam to see WWE at the O2 in Greenwich last night and it ended up being quite a late night and I mistakenly thought that I'd scheduled this post for this morning, but no matter!
Here are the cards that I'd made for the Digital Delights new releases that I told you about on Monday:

The second one follows Sketch Saturday's week #128, so I'll be entering it in that challenge. The Harp Angel one, I'm entering into Creatalicious Challenges #15 and also Craft Your Days Away challenge #7.
OK - I'm off to bed now, so it was a super quick post (but lots of cards!) Oh - and the wrestling was fun btw, Sam had the time of his life!! Bye for now......

Tuesday, 9 November 2010

Morning peeps. It's Scrap Creation's time again!!! This week we had some fab images from our sponsor - Scrap Fairy to go along with our 'Christmas' theme. And so, along with some Anna Griffin papers, I came up with this card:

I followed the Mojo Monday sketch # 164, so I'll be entering it into their challenge and it also fits in with Allsorts Challenge Blog - Week 77, which is the poem 'Twas the night before Christmas' - my card fits in with the line 'Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound'!!! LOL.
I hope you like it and I always love when you leave me comments. Don't forget to join in with the fun! Til next time.....

Monday, 8 November 2010

Evening All. Just some quick Digital Delights news to share with you! On Wednesday (10/11), there are going to be a couple of new releases:

You're going to love them, they're fab images and they're great to work with, I've made some cards with them, so I can't wait to show you on the release date! There's also some matching sentiments and quips too.
And secondly, Digital Delights will be holding a 'Digi Day' at SNR on Thursday (11/11), starting at midnight. You can find the fun here: http://snrcardiverse.ning.com/group/digitaldelightsbyloubyloo?xg_source=activity
If you fancy coming along, you'll get the 'Nutcracker' as a freebie challenge image and then there's another gorgeous image that will be given to those who take part - so it'll be worth your while! I'll hopefully see you there. Til then, I'll be back tomorrow......
