Happy Halloween!!!! I thought I'd just hop on and do a quick post and share this card with you, which I made a while ago but never showed you, using one of the fabulous images from The Stamping Boutique.

I'm going to enter it into the Totally Gorjuss 'So Spooky' challenge, Crafty Catz 'Halloween' challenge 56, Daring Cardmakers 'Trick or Treat' challenge, Dutch Dare's 'Halloween' challenge, Paper Play challenges 'A haunting we will go', Crafty Creations 'Halloween' challenge 91, and last but not least, Anything Goes challenges 'Halloween'. There's a lot of Halloween challenges going on at the moment!!
By the way - if you like the papers that I've used on my card, they were more freebie ones from Summer Driggs, I've mentioned her before and her papers really are fab (and free!)
Enjoy the rest of your day, hope it's suitably SPOOOOOKKKKYYY. Mwah, ha, ha....
Morning All. I hope you've got a nice relaxing Sunday planned (with plenty of time for crafting, of course!) And if you need any inspiration, there's a new Challenge over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp today. This time around, we had a fab sketch from Mandy and also some gorgeous bits from our sponsor, Craft Brulee!! (That's where the lace and the lacey flower are from!) Here's my card:

I finally got the chance to ink up one of my Kraftin' Kimmie 'Glamor Girls'!! All the papers and the little sentiment 'handbag' are from Craftwork Cards. I have also put a pearly pen swirl in the top left but I'm not sure you can see it in the light that I've taken the photo by?! I'm also going to enter it into CRAFT challenge 74 'Monotone'. OK, well enjoy your day and don't forget to pop over and see what the rest of the DT has done and join in with the challenge! See you tomorrow......

Afternoon Everyone! Just a quick post to say 'hello' - I'm back!! We actually got back yesterday but when I finally got to sit down in front of the computer and catch up with my emails, I was sooooo tired having been up since 4.45am travelling that I had to go to bed! Thanks for all your lovely comments while I was away - now I'm back, I'll be around to visit all of you over the next couple of days!
We had a fab time in Majorca. We were a bit concerned on arrival because after travelling all through the night, we arrived at our hotel to be told that they were having lots of problems with the water pipes and we would have to be moved to another hotel. However, on arrival at the other hotel (and following a subsequent visit back to the original one - as we were allowed to use both facilities), it turned out that we had the better deal and the Hotel Eurocalas was great!! Sam and I had adjoining rooms to my mum and dad up on the 12th floor and we had beautiful views across the sea (photos to follow - they're all on my dad's camera!) The food was wonderful - we were all inclusive, so made sure that we took full advantage of breakfast, lunch and dinner! I missed breakfast the first few days but then when I went and discovered that the chef cooked pancakes in front of you (to have with warm chocolate sauce!!) there was no stopping me getting out of bed in the morning! The weather was a bit changeable - but you have to expect that going at the end of the season. We were lucky enough to get two really hot days, which we spent at the pool and the beach - and it was definitely hotter than London!!
I must admit though, I did miss crafting while I was away and blogland and all of you lot - so it's good to be home! Back soon - with a card! Luv,

Thursday, 28 October 2010

Hi Everyone. I'm away in Majorca at the moment (21/10-28/10), so this is a scheduled post.

Today at Delightful Challenges, the theme is 'Round and Round' and you have to use lots of circles. I chose this (gorgeous!) image 'Lara the Ladybug' because I had in mind what paper I wanted to use, but then as the card evolved, it ended up looking nothing like I had in mind originally!! Does that ever happen to you? Here it is:

Lots of pics - sorry! In the end, I made a round easel card and covered it with red Bazzill Basics card and then used Craftwork Cards Card Candy to give the card all-over ladybug spots!! Simples!! Hop over and have a look at the other DT member's cards - and join in with the challenge!!
I'll be home from holidays later, so I'll probably pop on to say 'hi'!! Speak later....

Hi Everyone. I'm away in Majorca at the moment (21/10-28/10), so this is a scheduled post.

Today's my first post as a Delightful Challenges DT member, so it's all very exciting! Today's challenge is 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas' and I decided to use Christmas Stocking Toby on my card - I really do love this image, it is sooooo gorgeous and is quite easy to colour. Here's my card:

I used my current fave Christmas papers - from Echo Park (Everybody Loves Christmas) and coloured the image with promarkers (for a change ;-)). The sketch I used was last week's challenge sketch at 'The Sweet Stop', I wasn't in time to enter the actual challenge but I really liked the sketch, so I hope nobody minds!?!
OK - well, I'm actually enjoying my hols in Majorca at the moment, so I can't tell you too much about what I'm doing right now. I'll fill you in when I get back! I hope you'll join in with the challenge. Til next time......
Hi Everyone. I'm away in Majorca at the moment (21/10-28/10, so this is a scheduled post.

Morning all! Today, it's time for a new challenge at Southern Girls! The theme is 'Glitter' and here's my card:
Ingredients: Image - The Greeting Farm coloured with promarkers, Papers - DCWV, Ribbon from stash, Sentiment tickets - Caz (A load of old blogocks - thanks!), Number/Letter stickers - Anita's Glitterations. Also used: Martha Stewart Doily Lace Punch, Stickles, Cuttlebug and Nesties.
I needed to make quite a few cards from various members of the family for my cousin who's turning 30, so I thought I'd use the opportunity to make another card for her. To keep the card as much in line with the theme as possible, I've used the perfect papers - I hope you can see from the photo - you couldn't get any more glittery! And with the image, once I'd coloured it with promarkers, I then went over her dress, hairband and shoes with stickles. I'm also entering my card into the following challenges: Club Anya and Friends Sketch #39 and Daring Cardmakers - Welcome to the Dance.
I hope you like my card - and don't forget to join in with the Southern Girls challenge - go on, you've got no excuse not to, it's got a nice long deadline and there are two prizes and you must have some glitter!!!! TTFN.

Tuesday, 19 October 2010

Morning everyone. It's Tuesday, so it's time for another challenge over at Scrap Creations! This week, we went with a Christmas theme and we were given some seriously fun and fabby images from the new release by our sponsor, Kenny K (or Kenny G as one of my DT colleagues likes to say ;-) LOL). These are such great characters to work with and the Christmas ones especially, I think are really different from anything else out there. I also used the sketch over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenges, so I'll be entering it into their challenge #15. And here's my card:

I don't know if you can see so well from the photo, but I actually made a gatefold card - just to make a change! And aren't those papers gorgeous!!!! It's the first time I've used them, they're from Echo Park. OK - well, I'm off to settle back in front of QVC craft day and to get on with some crafting (my idea of heaven - all I need now is a hunky, naked man at my beck and call, hee, hee). I hope you like my card and I hope you'll join in with us at Scrap Creations! See you again soon!

Monday, 18 October 2010

I've got some fab news to share with you - last week, Wendy from Digital Delights asked me to join her Delightful Challenges Design Team. As I've been lucky enough to work with a couple of her images recently, I didn't hesitate to say a big 'yes'!! I've been dying to tell you about it but the announcement went out on the Digital Delights blog today, so I can now break the news! I've been working on a couple of cards and the first one will be posted on 21st October, so keep an eye out for that and I hope you'll join in with the challenges! In the mean time if you want to go and have a look around at her fabby images and my fellow DT member's blogs, there are now links in my sidebar. Back soon!!
It's Monday morning and that can only mean one thing - the beginning of a new week AND a new challenge over at Paper Cupcakes!! This week, Dru has set the challenge which is to make a tag using any image. And here's mine:
Ingredients: Image - Paper Cupcakes coloured with promarkers, Tag - Elegant Rectangle from Craftwork Cards, Ticket Sentiments - Stamping Caz, Paper - Basic Grey Jovial, Red ribbon from stash. Also used - Snowflake punches and crop-a-dile with eyelet.

There's a fab prize this week so make sure you join in - and don't forget, although we love it when you do, you don't have to use Paper Cupcake images anymore to enter the challenges. TTFN!!

Sunday, 17 October 2010

Good Morning, everyone! It's time for a new challenge over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and this fortnight, we had a fab sketch designed by Maggie and some great images from our sponsor, Crafts4eternity to work with!! Here's my card:
I've been asked to make some cards from various members of the family for my cousin's 30th birthday that's happening soon and as she's always loved elephants, I thought I'd make this card for her, from her nan. I really hope she likes it (and that you do too!) Hop over to the challenge blog and have a look at the other gorgeous cards that my talented DT colleagues have come up with - and take part in the challenge too, of course!! Bye for now........

Friday, 15 October 2010

Evening to you all on this very cold, wintery night which now makes it seem like Christmas really is just around the corner! I made tonight's card using a fab, fun image from The Stamping Boutique called 'Snowman's Laundry Line' - I love this image because it's so easy to colour and so you can whip up a gorgeous card in no time. I'll definitely be using it again for more of my chrimbo cards! TSB is sponsoring A Spoonfull of Sugar this week and the theme is 'Winter Wonderland', so I'll be entering my card into the challenge over there. And I'll also be entering it into the following:

Here's my card:
Ingredients: Image - The Stamping Boutique coloured with promarkers and flowersoft (which contrary to my earlier effort, looks better as snow ;-)), Papers - Basic Grey Jovial, Sentiment - Craftwork Cards. Also used - Pearls from stash, Cuttlebug and Nesties, Snowflake stamps.

I hope you like it. I was pleased with how my 'snowflake flowers' turned out because when I was looking for a snowflake punch a while ago for some reason I couldn't get one and I bought one without much detail out of desperation, but then I managed to get the one that I wanted so the first one had been relegated to the bottom of a drawer but now I've found a way of using them both together! I don't like seeing things going to waste!!
TTFN!

The Stamping Boutique's Paper Craft Planet Digi Day

Last month was the first time we held a digi image day on PCP and as it went so well, we'll be doing it again on Saturday (16th October). In fact,  we'll  be holding a digi day each month on PCP. There was a great turn out to the first one and everyone involved had such a blast. Unfortunately, I missed it because I had a prior arrangement but I'll be there this time!!!!!

This month's theme is going to be digi's in Pink! Yep...that's right, we are going to support Breast Cancer Awareness month for our digi day. I promise you will have fun, meet some new people, chat with the ones you already know, play some games, maybe get a freebie, and get to play in some great challenges for chances to win images from The Stamping Boutique.

What you need to know:
Where - The Stamping Boutique PCP forum
When - Saturday 16th October 2010
Time - 2-4pm EST (7-9pm GMT)
What to bring - Fast typing fingers and your crafting mojo!

As I said, I was really disappointed that I had to miss the last one, but I'll be there this time around so hopefully, I'll see you there!! Be back tomorrow with a card!

Tuesday, 12 October 2010

Hi Everyone. Today at Going Grey with Scrap Creations, the challenge is 'Make it 3D'. Now when I first saw the challenge, I was a bit stumped but then once I'd decided what I was gonna do and got to work, now I'm really pleased with the way it turned out! Here's my attempt:

I'm not sure if you can see that clearly from the photo, but it's a box card, all decorated with Imaginisce papers and then the Kraftin' Kimmie mermaid is suspended from a bit of acetate in the middle. And do you like my sentiment 'Best Fishes', boom, boom. LOL! I hope you'll join in with the challenge cos I'd love to see your 3D creations.
Also - is anyone else having trouble getting onto Papercraft Planet or CDAC? I've been trying all yesterday afternoon/evening and it's saying it can't connect. Very strange - just wondered if anyone else was having problems!?! Laters, blog fans!

Monday, 11 October 2010

Good Morning! It's time for another challenge over at 'There's Magic in the Air' with Paper Cupcakes. This week, it was the lovely Carol's turn to set the challenge and she chose the 'Deco Flower 2' image and we had to 'frame it' in some way. I decided to use a template I'd bought a while ago to make an 'Elegant Curved Easel' card. Here's my card:

I hope you can see my card OK, despite the 'softened' edges, it's just that with the winter coming it's not always so easy to take pics in the daylight, so the next best thing is in the kitchen but because of the angle of the photo, you had a great view of my kitchen worktop and tiles, so it looked slightly better when I softened the edges!!
My card also fits into the following challenges:
Hope you like it and I hope you'll join in with the challenge - the rules have recently been changed so that whilst we'd love you to use a Paper Cupcakes image, you don't have to so it'd be great to see your creations!! Bye for now....

Sunday, 10 October 2010

Evening Everyone. I hope you've all had a fabby weekend!! This is a bit of a marathon post, so bear with me, cos it was digi day at Some Odd Girl this weekend and so I have lots of cards to share with you! The first one is a mini card that we had to make following a sketch:

The second one was a really interesting challenge and something that I've never done before (you should try it!), you had to use no colour on the image:

For this one, you had to make a Halloween/Autumn inspired card using the colours Purple, Green, Orange and Black.

I'm also going to be entering this card into the following challenges:
And for the last one, the challenge was to make a card to celebrate something, so I chose Birthdays:

I'm entering this card into the following:

  • Mojo Monday - sketch # 159.
  • Allsorts - Week 73 Inspiration from a song title (I'm going for Happy Birthday - you know the one - 'Happy Birthday to ya, Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday to ya' although I don't know if that's what it's actually called?!?)

And lastly, I'm entering all of the cards into One Stitch at a Time challenge # 34 - Use your digi stamps and Fab n' Funky challenge # 43 - Use a digi image!

If you're still here, thanks for bearing with me and I hope you liked all the cards!! I'd love to read your comments and thanks to those of you who always leave them for me - you're fab!! TTFN!!!

Friday, 8 October 2010

Hey there! It's been such a weird day today - weather wise! I actually fell asleep on the sofa last night and missed my poor fur baby's last walk, so when I woke up this morning at 5.30am he had all four paws crossed, so I had a quick cuppa and then took him out and it was really misty. The mist took a good few hours to lift and it was quite cold this morning but by about midday it was warm and then it got warmer through the afternoon!! It's a nightmare getting dressed in the morning - you dress for winter and then by the afternoon, you look like a lunatic cos everyone else has got a t-shirt on!! Right, well that's my rant about global warming over with!
Tonight's card I made for the Everybody Art challenge # 111 and it's a sketch challenge. Here it is:

I've used the most perfect Mo Manning image and sentiment (which as usual I bought a while back and have only just got around to inking!) and my Basic Grey Oliver papers, which are quickly becoming my 'go to' papers for male cards!! This card is actually for my aunt to give to my cousin's little boy for his birthday - he can be a bit naughty and my cousin is always telling us stories of what he's been up to, so I think she'll find it funny! Til next time......

Thursday, 7 October 2010

Hi Everyone! Have you seen the new releases over at Some Odd Girl? Oh my goodness, I had to buy up the store!!!Here's a card I made using Ballerina Kaylee and some Fancy Pants papers that I've been dying to use!:

I'm entering it into the Papertake Weekly Challenge - I used sketch # 45 and Fab n' Funky challenge # 43 - use a digital image. Hope you like it! Bye for now.....

Tuesday, 5 October 2010

Today's challenge at Scrap Creations is 'Think Pink' - the reason behind it is because it's Breast Cancer Awareness month and some of the DT  have incorporated this into their cards, but I haven't and if you want to join in with the challenge, it's optional - as long as you go all out on the pinkness!!! Our fabulous sponsor is Tiddly Inks and I really am loving their images!!! Here's my card:
Ingredients: Image - Tiddly Inks coloured with promarkers. Everything else - Imaginisce!!
I followed Friday Sketchers sketch # 122, so I'll be entering into their challenge. Hope you like it! Don't forget to hop over and have a look at the rest of the DT's creations and join in with the challenge!!!
Bye for now,

Monday, 4 October 2010

When I saw that the challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges was 'What a Glamour Puss', I just HAD to make a card using this fabulous image from The Stamping Boutique. Could it be any more perfect? I also used sketch # 85 from Inspirational Card Sketches and lastly, Fab n' Funky Challenge # 42, 'Is it black or is it white (with a twist)?' - the twist being one other colour!!
I've used my favourite papers on this card (well, one of my favourites anyway!?!?), they're from Anna Griffin and the zebra stripes are flocked which is cool. I do love an animal print. It's funny, as I get older, I'm turning into Bet Lynch (of Coronation Street fame for those of you who don't know!) LOL! I also used Flower Soft for the first time, to try and give a furry effect to the kitty - I'm not sure I'm 100% happy with it though so I think I'll stick to using it as snow in future!
Hope you like it. I've got a couple more cards I've got to finish before bed tonight, so you'll be seeing those over the next few days! TTFN.
Hello there. I hope you all had good weekends and are ready to face a new week!! I had quite a quiet one - went to the shops on Saturday afternoon cos Sam (my son) wanted some plastic soldiers (although can you believe that Smyths (the biggest toy shop for miles) doesn't sell them anymore - I know the little green soldiers aren't exactly new but I thought they were one of those things that all children played with?!?). On Saturday night, we had movie night and watched the new Karate Kid film - have you seen it? Jaden Smith (Will Smith's son) acts his little socks off and I'd say he's got a bright future ahead of him but I don't think this one was as good as the original. Then on Sunday we popped round to see my best friend's new flat, which is gorgeous and I'm sure she's going to be very happy there!! (Note to self: must make her a new home card!!!) Also - was loving the X Factor this weekend!!! The judge's houses are always my favourite bit and the night that they tell the singers who's going through to the live finals, I'm always an emotional wreck - crying my eyes out with sadness for the ones who don't get through and with happiness for the ones that do. LOL!! I was sooooo surprised that Cheryl didn't put Gamu through and on the preview - why, oh why have they dyed Storm's hair red?? Dreadful!! Anyway, that's enough waffling from me for one day!!!
This week's challenge over at There's Magic in the Air, set by Pat was to use any Paper Cupcakes image to make a Christmas card including snowflakes. I'm loving these chrimbo card challenges cos they're giving me a headstart on all the cards I have to make for the occasion!!! Here's my card:

Ingredients: Image - Paper Cupcakes coloured with promarkers with a bit of stickles and viva pearl pen, Papers - Papermania, Sentiment - Craftwork Cards. Also used - Cuttlebug and Nesties.

Isn't that just the cutest image, so sweet and easy to colour. I'll definitely be using it for lots more of my Christmas cards. It was quite funny when I was making this card actually - I wanted to add a bit of Viva Pearl Pen to the penguin's hat but as I was squeezing it, nothing was coming out so I turned the tube round to look at the nozzle and kept squeezing and whatever was blocking it, cleared and pearly stuff went flying through the air and landed in my hair and across the table. V funny!!!
Right, well I think I've waffled on enough for one day!! I hope you've enjoyed reading it all and I hope you like my card and I hope you'll hop over to TMITA and have a look at the rest of the DT's cards and join in with the challenge - go on, it's an easy one and you don't have to use Paper Cupcakes images anymore (although I don't know why you wouldn't want to!!)
Bye for now........
