Looking a bit 'vintage'.....

Evening all! Have any of you been watching 'Falling Skies'? Well, I was going to post this card last night but it was the series finale last night and I got so wrapped up in it, time slipped away from me! It's been a fabulous series - with the ever fit, Noah Wyle (remember him from the good old ER days?!?) There was no mention of another series but they definitely left an open ending!! There's been some amazing programmes on FX this year - obviously Falling Skies, but also True Blood and The Walking Dead (which is back soon - cannot wait!!!!) Anyway, enough of the TV talk and onto the card. I've got something with a bit of a vintage feel to share with you tonight:

Ingredients:
Card Blank - Craftwork Cards.
Image - Simply Sassy coloured with Spectrum Noirs and Promarkers (what do you think of my shading again!?!?)
Papers, Stickers and Rub ons - Basic Grey Capella.
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards.
Lace and Gem from stash.
Also used - Imaginisce D-Stress tool to do all the distressing around the edges (although I think it's quicker to use my sandpaper blocks LOL!) and Distress Inks.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
OK - I think that's about it. I'm off to get crafting! Hope you like my card, I'd love to hear what you think - especially of another of my attempts at shading. See you tomorrow - I've got a couple of DT posts.....xxx

Ladybug Tilda.........x

Hi Peeps. How's this week been for you all? It's a nice long weekend here in the UK cos of the bank holiday on Monday - not that it affects me too much cos I can't work anyway! Although I will be using the opportunity to catch up with you all and get properly back on track. The challenge this week over at Shopping Our Stash is Red, Ribbon and Roses and here's my card:

Ingredients:
Image - Magnolia Ladybug Tilda watercoloured with distress inks (with a bit o' stickles!)
Papers - Panduro with Papermania red card.
Ribbon - Bias tape (hope that counts!) bought from a lovely shop that I went to while I was on holiday - the highlight of my trip LOL! - Swanstitch in Deal.
Sentiment - Crate Paper rub-on.
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts.

And I think that's about it! I'm also going to enter it into the following challenges:
There are alot of  'Anything Goes' challenges around at the moment, I think cos it's (meant to be!!) Summer so things are more relaxed. I say, meant to be, cos the weather in the UK is awful!!! We've really not had any kind of summer at all - unless you count about a week of sun that we did have. Here I go, typical Brit, moaning about the weather ha, ha. I'll put a sock in it and be off.......................TTFN xx

One Small Kiss..........

I'm sorry for my disappearance, I have been away for a few days but I'm back now and I make a solemn promise to those of you that are still with me (and I know I've lost quite a few of you along the way), that from now on, I'm going to be back to my blogging best!
And so, let's get to what you're all here for...the card! Barbara has come up with a wonderful sketch this week over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and here's my go at it:

Ingredients:

Image - Teddy Bo coloured with Spectrum Noirs and Promarkers (with stickles on the wings!)
Papers - Panduro and Papermania pink card.

Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts.
Sentiment - Inkadinkadoo (reads: One Small Fight can lead to War, But One Small Kiss can lead to Peace. Libby Groll, Age 9).
Other - Ribbon and Hearts from stash.

I really love the kid's quote sentiments from Inkadinkadoo, sometimes they really pull a card together and 'out of the mouths of babes' and all that, eh!?

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:

And I think that's about it. I hope you like my card - since I discovered Spectrum Noirs, I've been having great fun colouring up loads of images and I've even managed to combine them with my promarkers - I'd especially love to hear what you think of my colouring. Thanks for visiting! Bye for now.............................xx

Holy Moly!!!!!!

I'm back from the holiday from hell!!! I don't want to say too much about it cos I'm worried people are gonna stop visiting me soon cos I'm beginning to sound like a right old moaner, but all I'll say is that it was that bad, we were meant to be going away again at the end of the month and I've cancelled it!! And I'm sorry that I just disappeared off the face of the earth, I took my laptop and had every intention of continuing life in blogland as normal but I needed to use a dongle for the first time to access the internet and d'you think I could get it to work, could I 'eck!?! At least I'd taken along some crafty bits, so I was able to do some cardmaking in the evenings - if I hadn't, I think I'd have gone ker-azy!!! Here are a couple of cards I made while I was away - they should've been my DT cards for Shopping Our Stash and Sunday Sketch and Stamp, but of course, without internet access, I missed the challenges ;-(
 Ingredients:
Image - Pollycraft coloured with promarkers.
Background - Bazzill Basics Kraft card and 'denim pocket' made using cream BB card and Faded Jean DI.
Sentiment - Whimsy stamps.
Other - Baker's Twine and stick on studs from stash.

Ingredients:
Image - LOTV watercoloured with distress inks.
Papers - Tilda.
Sentiment - Whimsy stamps.
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts.

I hope you like my cards and I hope you've missed me - even a teeny bit!! I'll try and catch up with you all as much as I can over the next couple of days and will get myself back on track this week. Thanks for bearing with me - I really do appreciate each and every one of my blogland friends. See you tomorrow............xxx

OMG - I am sooooooo excited!!!!!!

After all this time, I've finally cracked it and I can add shading to my images using alcohol markers!! Woo hoo!!! I've had promarkers for absolutely ages but no matter what I tried, I never seemed to be able to add any depth to my images but then Crafter's Companion have brought out some new markers - Spectrum Noir and being as the price of them was so reasonable, I thought I'd give 'em a try and see if I could work with them any better than I do with the PMs and I am sooooooooooo happy with the results!!
There's a new challenge over at Shopping Our Stash today and it's 'Vellum, Violet and Violins', so you can use a combination of any or all of those things. I managed two outta three and loved this challenge cos purple is a fave colour of mine!! Here's my card (click to enlarge if you want to see the shading a bit better):

Ingredients:
Image - The Greeting Farm coloured with Spectrum Noirs.
Papers - Purple card from stash embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and Papermania Vellum.
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:

And I think that's about it for now! I hope you like my card and I would really appreciate your HONEST opinions on my shading and any other comments you might have. Don't forget to join in with our challenge! Bye for now (I'm off to colour some more LOL!!).............xx
