Stay Strong xx

Good Morning! There's a new challenge starting today over at My Mum's Craft Shop Challenges and this week, we want to see your 'Feeling Blue/Get Well Soon' creations. Here's mine:
Image - Milk Coffee digital images (coloured with Spectrum Noirs).
Papers - First Edition.
Sentiment - Whimsy.
Other - Martha Stewart flower punch and pearls from The Hobby House (@Ally Pally).
The image is actually called 'Celine Praying' and I've used the 'Stay Strong' sentiment because my family have had quite a bit of bad news over the last couple of weeks - one of my aunt's, who dealt with mouth cancer fairly soon after I had my own battle with cancer, has found some lumps in her neck and following initial tests, has been told that her cancer is back. She's up at the hospital today actually, having a PET scan to find out how far it's spread and then they'll make some decisions about what treatment she can have. And also, one of my uncle's - he hasn't been well for quite a few weeks, he was having problems with his throat and finding it hard to eat. At first, the GP told him it was some sort of infection and gave him some medication which seemed to help a bit but after the problem didn't go away, he went back to the doctors, who sent him to the hospital for tests. They were looking at his throat and also his stomach, so you can imagine our shock when the diagnosis came back - he's got lung cancer. For those of you so inclined, if you could keep them in your prayers, I would really appreciate it. I know that this dreadful disease touches so many people's lives but up until 2006, I hadn't really felt so affected by it and then of course, I found out I had thyroid cancer but it seems like ever since, everyone we hear about that is ill, has it in one form or another. I know that they've made alot of advances in the treatment of cancer but I hope that one day they find a cure. And I must also say that if any of you ever find a lump, be in it your breast or neck or anywhere there didn't used to be one!! Please, please go and get it checked out - you never know, it could save your life!!
And on that note, I'll be off for now. Back soon, take care my

Little Claire's (where my image is from) are one of the fabby sponsors of this fortnight's challenge, so don't forget to hop over to Southern Girls and check out my teamie's gorgeous cards, and of course, join in for a chance of winning one of the fab prizes!! TTFN.................xx

The Princess and The Frog

Morning! There's a new challenge starting today over at My Mum's Craft Shop Challenges and this week, we want to see your cards inspired by 'Fairytales'. Here's mine:
Image - Saturated Canary coloured with Spectrum Noirs.
Papers - Imaginisce.
Ribbon - Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Twine - Bunny Zoe's.
Brad - Wild Orchid Crafts.
Flowers and Spacer - The Hobby House @ Ally Pally.
Dies - Magnolia Doohickey border.
Other - Bazzill Basics pink card, Charm from stash.

This image makes me laugh cos the Princess looks like she kissed the frog expecting him to turn into a Prince but is really p***ed off that he didn't!! Sometimes a frog is just a frog - I read that somewhere once, maybe it was a bumper sticker?!
I'm also entering my card into the Willow Sketchie Challenge cos I followed their fabby sketch - and theme as it happens cos I've used a die too! And I'm also entering it Bunny Zoe's Challenge 23, which is Ribbon or Twine, and I've used both!
Right, I think that's about it from me for now. Have you been watching the new SWALK shows over on Create and Craft? I've been waiting for these stamps to be released since I started seeing the previews so I've already bought mine!! Bye for now, lovelies..............xx

Sunday Sketch & Stamp is 3!! Plus CANDY!

Greetings!! It's my first post from the new version of blogger - how are you all getting on with it? So far, I think I'm likin' it, but time will tell!! Anyway, I digress! It's a very special occasion today over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp - as my post title suggests, it's our 3rd Birthday (I give everything away in my post titles lately! Maybe I should rethink that LOL!) To celebrate, you can choose any sketch we've ever provided. I decided to try my hand at Sketch #76:
And here's my attempt at it:
Image - Hanglar coloured with Spectrum Noirs.
Papers - Nitwits 'Spring Whimsy' (free with a magazine!)
Dies - Memory Box 'Honeysuckle Vine', Nestie Label and MFT dienamics 'Fringed Perennials'.
Other - Kraft card, Seam Binding and Gems all from stash.

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
And last but by no means another 'surprise' for SS&S's 3rd Birthday and to say 'thanks for sticking with me' cos I've been a bit of a bad blogger lately, I've got CANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What I can tell you is that there's a Bildmalarna Stamp and Dovecraft Tea Party 12 x 12 papers (papers were very kindly donated by Kitty over at My Mum's Craft Shop). And I'll add some other bits too! All you need to do is be a follower and mention my candy on your blog and leave me a comment letting me know you're a candy luvver and you're in with a chance!!!!
I think that's about it for today (turned out to be a bit of a marathon post!) I'm off to craft to take my mind off the fact I've gotta go to the dentist in the morning to have a filling and I'm bricking it! Ta-ta for now....xx
