If in doubt, Accessorize!

Evening! Here's a card I made using one of the stamps from the latest Sugar Nellie release 'Bags of Fashion' - believe it or not, I think this is the fastest 'through the door' to card, card that I've ever made!
Ingredients:
Image - Sugar Nellie coloured with Pro/Flex-markers and Speccies.
Papers - Cosmo Cricket 'Upcycle'.
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards.
Other - MS 'Cherish' border punch, Grey Bazzill Basics card, Twine and Pearls from stash.

The hair on these images is just amazing!! I'm not sure I've done her justice (you can have a closer look by clicking on the card to enlarge it) but hey, I tried! As soon as I'd inked up this little cutie, I knew exactly what papers to use - I love these Cosmo Cricket ones with handbags all over 'em! And the sentiment from Craftwork Cards seemed like the icing on the cake! Hope ya like it!

I'm going to enter my card into the following challenges:
Phew! I think that's about it! Have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow to all you mum's out there. I hope you're all thoroughly spoilt and have a nice relaxing day. Sending hugs.....xx

Noel

Morning! It's the last challenge for 2012 starting today over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and this time, you can take your pick of any of our previous sketches - and you've got til the 5th January to take part so you've got plenty of time to join in more than once!! I used Sketch # 124 to make my card:

Ingredients:
Image - Freebie from Quick Cards made Easy, coloured using Spectrum Noirs with chalk inks in the background.
Papers - Freebies from QCME.
Flowers - made using Bazzill Basics card punched with Martha Stewart flower punch layered with handcut holly leaves with gold glitter glue in the middle.

There have been some fab freebies with the magazines this year and I've not had the chance to use all of them, so I'll still be using them next year! Well, I'll be off - don't forget to hop over to Sunday Sketch and Stamp and have a nose at my fellow teamies gorgeous creations (we've got a couple of new DT members too!) and make sure you join in! Bye for now..................xxx

Best Dress

Hello again! Can you believe it's the 1st of July? Where on earth has this year gone? I can't believe that I need to start thinking about making Christmas cards again soon (yes, I know it's still only July but I'm determined to change the habit of a lifetime and make a start on them much earlier this year!!) Anyways, back to the matter in hand! Cos it's the first of the month, it's time for a new challenge over at the Cupcake Craftroom. This month, the team had the most fabulous 'Flourish' papers to work with - you really must check them out because not only are the designs gorgeous but the soft colour tones are right up my alley too!!! And the theme this month is a nice easy one for you all too.....'Lots of Layers'. Here's my card:
Ingredients:
Image - Lili of the Valley coloured with Spectrum Noirs.
Papers - 'Flourish' Cupcake Cards and Crafts.
Sentiment - Whimsy stamps.
Flowers - Woodware (large green one), Wild Orchid Crafts (all the others!)
Punches/Dies - Whimsy mini postage stamp die, Memory Box Madera corner, MS butterfly punch.
Other - Whitewash coredinations cardstock, Making Memories distressing tool, Pearls from stash.

Isn't this little girl just the absolute cutest?!?! I do love this colour combo - I have said it before....the saying goes 'blue and green should never be seen' but I think it looks pretty darned good together! I have scuffed up all the edges using my distressing tool but looking at the pic, I'm not sure you can see it too well (it might if you enlarge it?!)

I'm also going to enter my card into the following challenges:
Right, I think that's all from me for today - I think two posts in one day is enough, eh!?! I hope you like my card, I love reading any comments you might choose to leave, so thanks in advance! And don't forget to hop over to the Cupcake Craftroom to check out the other gorgeous DT cards and join in with the challenge, you've got a whole month!! Bye for now...............xx

Stay Strong xx

Good Morning! There's a new challenge starting today over at My Mum's Craft Shop Challenges and this week, we want to see your 'Feeling Blue/Get Well Soon' creations. Here's mine:
undefined
Ingredients:
Image - Milk Coffee digital images (coloured with Spectrum Noirs).
Papers - First Edition.
Sentiment - Whimsy.
Other - Martha Stewart flower punch and pearls from The Hobby House (@Ally Pally).
The image is actually called 'Celine Praying' and I've used the 'Stay Strong' sentiment because my family have had quite a bit of bad news over the last couple of weeks - one of my aunt's, who dealt with mouth cancer fairly soon after I had my own battle with cancer, has found some lumps in her neck and following initial tests, has been told that her cancer is back. She's up at the hospital today actually, having a PET scan to find out how far it's spread and then they'll make some decisions about what treatment she can have. And also, one of my uncle's - he hasn't been well for quite a few weeks, he was having problems with his throat and finding it hard to eat. At first, the GP told him it was some sort of infection and gave him some medication which seemed to help a bit but after the problem didn't go away, he went back to the doctors, who sent him to the hospital for tests. They were looking at his throat and also his stomach, so you can imagine our shock when the diagnosis came back - he's got lung cancer. For those of you so inclined, if you could keep them in your prayers, I would really appreciate it. I know that this dreadful disease touches so many people's lives but up until 2006, I hadn't really felt so affected by it and then of course, I found out I had thyroid cancer but it seems like ever since, everyone we hear about that is ill, has it in one form or another. I know that they've made alot of advances in the treatment of cancer but I hope that one day they find a cure. And I must also say that if any of you ever find a lump, be in it your breast or neck or anywhere there didn't used to be one!! Please, please go and get it checked out - you never know, it could save your life!!
And on that note, I'll be off for now. Back soon, take care my lovelies...............xxx
